Upon seeing the sight of the leader Alpha Gyarados shrunk and captured inside of Trinity's Poke Ball, the opposing army was struck by silence and shock. Then, as one, each and every Gyarados and Kingdra all began to swam away, knowing that the battle was lost.

The Dragonite at the frontlines all shot Dragon Pulses, prompting their enemies to keep fleeing with their tails tucked between their metaphorical legs. One of the Dragonite that served as the Alpha's bodyguard even went so far as to chase them away.

The defeated opponents were roused from their slumber, instantly realizing that they had lost. They quickly rushed away from the chaos, knowing that they lost the advantage they had. Without their leader, they'd suffer an even more egregious loss.

Well, almost all of them escaped. I threw a Poke Ball, hitting the back of a fleeing Kingdra. It gasped as it was sucked into the ball. It couldn't resist as the ball shook three times, before clicking when it was captured.

It disappeared as it was sent back to my PC. I sighed in relief that I managed to catch one before they left. From what I could tell, these Kingdra were pretty strong. I would make them even stronger with my newfound training method.

When the battle was confirmed to be over, the residents of the island let out a boisterous cheer. The Dragonair and Dragonite all flew around our own army, rejoicing in our sizeable victory.

I turned to the Alpha Dragonite, who regarded me with a nod, its eyes softening ever so slightly. "Drag," it said, almost gratefully.

"Of course," I said, smiling. "I could never leave you all to fend against that Gyarados by yourself."

It turned toward its kin, a small, fond smile playing at its lips as it saw that the battle was won. "Nite," it said, a small note of happiness in its tone. At that moment, the boundless, joyous nature of Dragonite peeked out, albeit slightly.

Without another word, Dragonite flew toward the shore, leaving me and Aerodactyl alone. I patted her on the head.

"You did good, girl," I said. "Good thing you're such a graceful flyer."

"Dactyl," she said, her voice a growl that scarcely resembled a chuckle. She flapped her wings elegantly, following Dragonite, who landed to meet its brethren.

When Aerodactyl sank her talons into the soft sand, I slipped off her, stroking her on the side once more, before returning her. "Rest now. You did great."

I watched as Trinity, on her newly-evolved Milotic, made it to the shore. She grinned at me as she hopped off her, with Milotic slithering after her.

"That was a close one," she admitted.

"Way too close," I said, glaring at her in annoyance more than anything. "Jumping off Swoobat? That was reckless, even for you."

Trinity's smirk did not falter as she crossed her arms around her chest. "You would have done the same and you know it."

"Don't do as I do."

She rolled her eyes playfully. "You worried about me?"

"If you're going to be an idiot, then of course I am," I said, allowing myself a wry smile.

"Same could be said for you."

I shook my head, struggling to keep the mirth out of my face.

I scanned the beach, surprised that it was nearly untouched, apart from the random gouges strewn around it, the only signs of the battle that had occurred merely moments prior. If it wasn't for us managing to keep them away and Trevenant blocking Gyarados' desperate final attacks, then the damage most likely would have spread beyond the beach.
