wanna spill my guts out ! ꒱THE SOUND OF LOCKERS SHUTTING COULD BE HEARD ALL THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL HALLWAY.
Judy Fletcher sighed as she reached for the books that were needed for her next class. She had just finished gym that morning, so she wasn't feeling or looking as good as she wanted to.
Her hair had gotten frizzy, her cheeks were still a bit flush, and she was still a bit sweaty from their game. Once she got her book out, her thoughts were interrupted when she heard some shouts from behind her.
"Look at her, Upchuck Judy." A boy spoke in a teasing tone his friends. Once Judy heard her name in the sentence, she quickly turned around.
A trio group of Soc boys were eyeing her from behind and when they saw that she took notice of them, they bunched close together to laugh at her discreetly— even though they weren't being discreet at all.
Judy looked to them in bewilderment on why they were calling her that. She wasn't going to talk back because she wasn't planning on causing a issue but she was curious on what they're talking about. Judy slowly turned back around, they couldn't be talking about her, right?
"Upchuck's gonna ignore us!" The boy spoke once more, louder then he was initially. His friends laughed in response to him.
"Don't say that, she might throw up in your lap next." The other Soc boy said playfully back to him.
This time, Judy froze. Now she knew what was going on. They were making fun of her, and she knew exactly why. All of a sudden, she felt cold as she faced her locker. She didn't know what to say or do, she had so many questions. How could they possibly know her incident?
The trio walked away with grins and just remained their gaze on her. She made sure to check her clothing and her hair to make sure nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. She was thankful that the hallways weren't crowded and no one cared enough to see what was happening. With haste, Judy walked to the classroom to confront the one person who could've been responsible for telling on her.
Fueled by anger and embarrassment, Judy found the classroom that wasn't hers and marched right on in. She spotted no one other then Garrett Huntington, leaning forward slightly as he read his book before his class started. Judy wasn't worried on what the other students thought of her being in there so Judy called out to Garrett for his attention. "Garrett!" Judy exclaimed while tapping his desk.
Garrett looked up from his book to see her. He then looked up at her in surprise. For a moment, his face fell into fear but then went to being nonchalant. "Judy, hey—"
"Did you tell your friends about what happened?!" Judy interrupted in a haste.
Garrett immediately knew what she was talking about but he was fully planning to intentionally play dumb. "What are you talking about?" Garrett quizzed her.
"You know what I'm talking about!" Judy expressed in frustration. "When I... threw up in the theatre! Did you tell?!" Judy whispered to him loudly. She wasn't trying to be the reason for getting out even more.
"I didn't." Garrett lied quickly as he avoided her gaze.
"Garrett." Judy said sternly with her arms crossed. She knew for a fact that he wasn't telling the truth.
Garrett rolled his eyes. "Okay, I told maybe a few of my friends. But can you blame me? It was hilarious!"
"Garrett! Why would you do that without telling me?! They just called me a name in the hallway! What if they go and tell other people!" Judy scolded him. She was still trying to keep her voice low because they were in a classroom.
"I didn't feel like I need to, you're worried about the wrong thing." Garrett said defensively. "Besides, you should be lucky I found it funny and didn't get angry that you messed up my pants!"
"You're a jerk Garrett!" Judy put forth immediately out of anger. "I could care less about your... stupid pants!"
Just then, Garrett himself grew to be offended and retaliated the same angry manner. "Those were more expensive then you could ever imagine! And if you really feel that way, then good luck finding another boy to ever date you Upchuck!"
Judy frowned even harder at his words, in this moment she wished she was a boy so she had the excuse to sock Garrett right in his jaw. She couldn't believe that he would use that nickname against her.
Garrett knew he got under her skin. "What? Are you gonna throw up when you go in for your first kiss? Good luck to that guy!"
"Shut up Garrett! You're the worst!" Judy exclaimed in frustration once more. She then came to the realization that some more students began piling into the class and eyeing the scene.
"Just go on somewhere. Make tracks." Garrett said casually as he leaned back into his seat. He knew that if Judy didn't want to embarrass herself further, she'd stop right now.
As much as Judy didn't want to give him what he wants, she swiftly turned around and angrily made her way to exit out the door. She wasn't sure if she wanted to cry, yell, or to just go somewhere and hide. Her thoughts were so clouded into her own wants that she accidentally bumped into one of Garrett's classmates. The smell of grease hitting her nose instantly. She realized she bumped into no one other than Ponyboy Curtis. The sound of his school books hitting the floor seemed to echo loud by the door.
Ponyboy looked her up and down in surprise at Judy's frantic movement. Judy was so upset no words could be formed at the moment and she just stared apologetically and frustratedly.
Unfortunately, Ponyboy didn't care about whatever she was going through and immediately spoke up. "Well, excuse you." Ponyboy muttered before he knelt down to pick up his books.
That drove Judy even more mad, she couldn't tell if she was more angry at herself, Garrett, and now him. She just huffed and walked further out the room. Ponyboy side eyed her as she exited, wondering what that weird reaction was about.
Ponyboy then mumbled under his breath to no one but himself. "Some Soc girls are so entitled.." He then walked more into the classroom to take his seat.
