Dev went out for buying vegetables and grocery. He was picking the vegetables from the baskets which are placed in a row at the daily market. After buying them he kept the bags near his bike and went to the medical store for buying amukta's medicines. He gave the prescription to the druggist and waited for him to bring them. That is when he got a call from vinod.
Dev : hello vinod ! What's up ?
Vinod : Dev ! Jara escaped from the prison.
Dev : what ?
Vinod : yes !
Dev : when did this happen ?
Vinod : yesterday night.
Dev : what about kali ?
Vinod : he is here.
Dev : who is that jailer ? Is that Rajesh ?
Vinod : yes !
Dev : interrogate him properly. No one can escape from a jail without jailer's knowledge.
Vinod : he is saying that he escaped in the night when he went to washroom.
Dev : why he didn't check CCTV of those few minutes when he is away ? That was the first thing i told every single police over here who are designated for something like this.
Vinod : I don't know man ! He is being a little rude and weird.
Dev : inform about this in head office.
Vinod : ok ! I'll talk to you later.
Dev : bye !
Dev took the medicines cover and went home after buying everything written by amukta on the list. He is getting all sorts of bad vibes after knowing that Jara escaped from the prison.when he reached his home. He found the door open. He told her not to keep the door open but she said that she is loving the cold breeze. He went inside and kept everything on the table and went into their room. He saw a sleeping figure on the bed. He smiled and went into the kitchen but suddenly he felt that something is wrong. He went into their room and took of the blanket and found pillows placed in a way as if a human is sleeping. He called amukta but her phone is on the bed. He checked the whole house and asked his neighbours about her. But no one responded. He screamed out loud with anger and pain. He felt helpless. The oldman who roams in their locality came inside and saw dev.
Oldman : eyy DCP ! What happened ?
Dev : my wife is missing.
Oldman : then go and search for her. Why are you wasting your time ? You did a mistake by being careless on that day. Now you are again doing a mistake by wasting time.
Dev wiped his tears and called vinod. But he is not answering his call. He called Rajat and even he is not answering. He decided to go to the police station.
.......
Vinod peeped out from his cabin and saw that everyone stood up. He thought that some higher official came. He went out and saw Vasudev. Vinod saluted to him and he wished him back.
Vasudev : I thought you guys are the best officers . That is the reason why I have appointed you guys for this mission and transfered you guys here. Dev ended up getting suspended and you have let a criminal to escape. Good job boys. I begged multiple morons for recruiting dev again. I can't wait for one more month. You don't even deserve that. I am not going to repeat that again.
Vinod : sir ! Actually..
Vasudev : shut up vinod ! Don't give lame explanations. Accept your mistake.
Dev : vinod !
Dev barged inside hurriedly. Vinod and Vasudev both looked at him.
Dev : amukta is missing.
Vasudev : what ?
Vinod : it must be done by that bastard.
Dev : i guess he took her to the forest. That is the only place where he could rule out us.
Vasudev : yes !
Dev : Sir ! It's ok . I will resign for my job. I want to find my wife. I am going into the forest.
Vasudev walked towards dev and gave the rejoining letter to him. Dev opened it and read it.
Vasudev : no one can stop you dev !
Rajat : sir ! A man came here to tell that he saw jara along with a woman . He said that he is taking her into a forest. They are group of around 8 people it seems.
Dev's mobile pinged with a message. It is a mail. He opened it and saw a video.
Jara was holding amukta by her hair and he tied her hands and covered her mouth and eyes with a cloth.
Jara : eyy DCP ! Look at her. May be you won't see her again ( laughs loudly ) . If you want her to be safe then do whatever i say. My first demand is to release all of our trucks that are seized by you people in past few weeks starting from the one which you have seen on the highway when you are coming here. My next demand will be told soon. Don't try to act smart. One smart move from your side will result in me cutting a vein in your wife's body. Finally ! I want to confess something. I love you DCP sir.
Jara laughed loudly again.
Dev felt nervous. He didn't understand what he is supposed to do. He can't loose his wife and he don't want to bend down for a criminal.
Vasudev : don't think much dev ! Release those trucks. He is a jerk. He might harm amukta.
Dev : ok sir !
Vasudev : reply him.
Dev nodded.
........
Jara was laughing evilly. He is feeling extremely happy that he is able to take revenge on dev . He can't forget what all had happened to him and people like him because of police and forest officers. Many innocent people like jara's father are mistaken as criminals and they got killed. That turned jara into a criminal. He never thought that he would somehow end up being rival of his father's murderer without knowing about his family. But after knowing that dev is indeed his father's murderer's son he is determined to take revenge.
He looked at amukta. He can't see a single ounce of fear. She is carrying a poker face.
Jara : eyy madam ! Aren't you scared ? I will kill you mercilessly if your husband won't listen to my demands.
Amukta didn't respond. She was quiet.
Jara : what is this ? Is she mute ?
Henchman : no sir ! I heard her talking.
Jara : then why she is not talking ?
Jara saw the almost healed wound on amukta's neck. He held her neck tightly. Amukta screamed because of pain. His nails digged into her neck. Blood is dripping out.
.........
How's the chapter ?
