I always dreaded coming back to this place. I never liked living here with them. But I had to.

I walked up the pavement, trying to mentally prepare myself.

It was the day before I had to go to Hogwarts. Mother and Father wanted me closer to home and near my siblings. Which didn't make sense cause my little sister was still allowed to go.

I got to the huge doors and sighed. "Maximum effort."

I knocked on the doors and waited. When it swung open to reveal, Tilly, our house elf. She smiled up at me and I smiled back. She was kind to me and I was kind to her. She stepped aside, I walked inside and looked around. It was still the same shit hole as when I left.

"Where are they?" Refering to my 'parents.'
"At a meeting with the ministry. They'll be back shortly." I nodded in thanks and walked up to my room.

"Tilly, who's here."My eldest brother called out.

"In here, asshole." I called out from the hallway. He popped his head out from his room and furrowed his eyebrows. "Who are you?" He smiled and walked to me. I rolled my eyes, he chuckled and gave me a hug. I heard running coming from down the hall.

I turned to see my twin brother running towards me. He jumped on me, causing me me to fall. He laughed and gave me a tight hug. I pushed him away and shook my head, laughing with him. Tom wasn't that impressed.

He helped me stand and hugged me again. I laughed and pushed him away again. "So, what's it like in the institute?" Tom asked, walking me to my room.

"It's fine. I made many friends. And it's cold." I chuckled. They smiled and left me at my room.

My brothers have always been worried about me. They never left my side when we were younger. Always acting like my bodyguards. I know they mean well though.

I walked into my room and plopped down on my bed. My back hurting and my head was pounding. I looked over at the clock in the corner of my room, it was 12 o'clock. I had about two hours of sleep before my parents got home. My cat, Lincy, was curled up in the corner of my room. I looked at her and smiled. She, along with all my other belongings, got here a day earlier than me. I sighed knowing I was tired as fuck.

I got back up and walked to my door, locking it. I walked back to my bed and laid down, closing my eyes.

I woke up at the feeling of someone shaking me awake. "Amethyst, wake up."

I opened my eyes and looked at the person in front of me. "What the fuck, Theo?"I tried to push him away but he held on to my shoulders.

"They're back."

I shot up from the bed and fell back down. My head was spinning and my vision was getting blurry. "Shit." He came up next to me and helped me stand. "I'm fine, I'm fine." Once I was standing, I walked to my door and opened it.

I furrowed my brows and looked back at my brother. But no one was there. 'I need to get back on my meds.' I thought. I also knew I had locked my door, must've been my tiredness.

I walked out and went down to the kitchens. I grabbed a mug and poured myself some coffee.

Leaning against a counter, I sipped the coffee and stared at the clock. I heard small footsteps coming from the staircase. I peered around the corner and saw Tilly running towards the kitchen.

"What is it, Tilly?" I stopped her at the door way. "Master requests tea." She hurried past me and started on the tea.

I giggled and looked at her. "Why not tell him to do it himself." I scoffed and walked over to the window.

"Lady Amethyst." Tilly said in a warning tone.

"I mean like, this motherfucker has no self respect, of course he wouldn't have respect for others." I shook my head chuckling.

"Watch your tongue, Lilith!" His voice roared behind me. I whipped around with an offended expression on my face. There stood the man I was supposed to call my 'father'.

I hated how his left eye was higher than his right. I hated how his lips look like little lines drawn by a child. I hated how he always looked at me like I was prey for him to catch. I hated everything about him.

He stood there with a furious expression on his face with my mother behind him. She was the nice one, and my real parent. She married three years after my real father was 'killed' by Harry Potter.

"Best watch your tongue and how you speak in my house."
"It's not your house, Vincent." He didn't take kindly to this. 'Cause next thing I knew, he was in front of me, holding me by the neck and in my face.

"How dare you? You little slut." I could see the anger in his eyes. I didn't fear him anymore but damn were they terrifying to look into. I was used to this behavior from him. But it still shocked me.

"Vincent! Please, let her go!" My mother came next to him and grabbed his shoulder, trying to pull him away. He let go and threw me to the floor. "Watch your mouth."

He walked away and slapped Tilly in the back of the head, "Mind your business." She turned back around and kept making the tea.

My mother crouched down next to me and examined my neck, making sure I wasn't hurt too badly. "Can you ever keep your mouth closed?!" She exclaimed.

"Sorry, Mother." I looked down and she helped me stand. She looked over at Tilly and gave her a sympathetic look. "Are you alright, Tilly?" She nodded.

I grabbed my coffee and drank the rest of it. She came up next to me and hugged me from behind. "How were your years there?"
"Cold, but fun."
"And the dresses that you made?"

She was referring to the dresses I made for the girls there. It's how I made a living there.

"Fine. All sold." She smiled proudly and kisses my temple. "Good."

She let go and walked out the kitchen. "Miss?" Tilly called to me.

"Yes?"
"Would you like me to hex your door again?"
"Sure"

She nodded and got back to her work. I cleaned the cup and went up to the library. Theo was already in there. He looked up from a book, with a worried look. "What was that?" He asked about the noise downstairs.

"Same old shit." He sighed and looked at me with his 'are you okay' look.

"I'm fine." He nodded and went back to his book.

I grabbed one off of the top shelves and walked back to my room. Tilly was already out side.

"Dinner?" She smiled. I smiled back and shook my head. She nodded and waited till I went inside to hex the door. Now on one could come in or go out.

I sat on my bed and started reading. When it got dark, I used my muggle lamp Alexi got me. I fell asleep at around 3 o'clock.
