On the next morning, after breakfast, Leyla stormed off to the Hidden Garden. She was still pretty shattered by the previous night's events and wanted to see Mert as soon as possible. She could not wait for a later time. She needed him. She needed him and his presence more than anything. If she stayed away from him for any more minutes, she would go completely insane.
This time it was Leyla to arrive to the Hidden Garden, before Mert, and waited for him to arrive. She was not moving her gaze away from the garden's entrance, observing the moment her most comfort person walked through there.
This time Leyla chose to put on a gray dress - a colour which stood between black and white in the colour palette. It was a rather lighter sahde of gray, in which the white shade was still dominating over the black one. Although the nightmare for her had already begun, she still had some hope for happiness with Mert.
When Mert finally made his appearance at the garden, he smiled a reassuring smile to gis beloved girl. She ran to him, hugging him even tighter than the previous time, with her eyes already in tears.
"It-It happened, Mert... It happened..." she said through tears, with a skipping voice "Th-They e-engaged me to h-him..."
"Shhh..." Mert replied, rocking her slowly in his arms and stroking her hair "It is okay, my love. It is okay."
"It is not... It is not..." she replied back "My life is ruined. They ruined it. I hate everything and everyone."
"Bebeğim benim..." he said in a soft voice tone "Come on, come here. Let's sit down."
Mert then led Leyla to their bench and helped her sit there, after which he sat next to her. She then returned back to his arms, clinging to him, as if she would fall apart, if he was not there to hold her tight.
They stayed like that, in silence, in each other's hug for a while. Mert's strong arms wrapped around Leyla like a shield, making her feel safe and protected. Arms which were big enough for her to hide her from the cruel world outside.
When Mert sensed that Leyla was a little calmer, he kissed her tender forehead and asked her "Are you feeling better?"
"Yes." she answered, pulling herself away from the hug "I mean... As good as I can be now..."
"Look at me, my love." Mert said, placing a hand on her face and turning her head towards himself "Everything will be fine. Do not worry. Do not lose your hope."
"How, Mert?! How?! How is it going to be fine?!" she exclaimed hopelessly "Once I put that signature, it will be almost impossible for me to see you... Or at least not whenever I want."
Mert gave her a sweet kiss on the lips, after which he replied "It will be fine. Trust me."
"Do you have anything in mind?" Leyla asked him
"No." he answered, careful not to spoil the surprise that was awaiting her soon
"Then, how are you so sure it will be fine?" she asked
"I just have this feeling, my love." he answered
"Then, I choose to believe it, too." she replied, forming a small smile on her face
Mert loved to see a smile Leyla's beautiful face, despite the chaos her life had just turned into.
Later the same day, when Mert was at his home, he received a phone call. When he answered it, he received the good news that he had been hired as a personal bodyguard and driver of Emir Sönmez's future wife and he could move into the house in the following days, so that he would be familiar with most of the things, when the new mistress of the house officially came into the house. After the phone conversation ended, Mert sighed with relief and smiled, because he would be able to be as close to his Leyla as possible, and would be able to protect her.
