Chapter 24: A ghost city

The sound of crows chirping is the only sound Y/n, his team and Artoria can here within Mountain Glenn. They walk through the streets and there is nothing but ruin buildings.

There were no run down vehicles, no animals, no sign of anyone been here, there is nothing but silence and creepiest. They continue walking and look around until they come across an abandon hotel.

They decided to stay in there for a while so they make their way in there and search around the hotel just to see that the hotel is clear. After hours they give it the all clear so they find a room with a open hole and set up a camfire near it.

By the time they sat down night soon came and they sat there by the campfire as they got some burgers and sausages and begin to cook them.

Y/n: Damn this city is dead. A lot of people use to live here and now it's a ghost city.

Igris: Yeah. It just shows how much of a threat the Grimm are.

Y/n: Yeah.

Y/n pull his sniper rifle and use the scope to look down and try to see anything but nothing. Artoria then came over and ask him.

Artoria: May I take a look of your rifle?

Y/n: Sure.

He hands her his rifle and she looks at it and she is impress.

Artoria: This is some rifle. Bet it can blow a head off of someone.

Y/n: (smirk) Indeed it can.

Artoria: So have my boys been treating you well?

Y/n: (smirk) Nope. In fact I may cost them a bit of a trouble sometimes.

Alex: (smile) That's true.

Artoria: (giggle) You boys are such good together.

Nick: So where do you think the White Fang would be? If this place is filled with Grimm then what location that would be safe for them to have as their hide out?

Artoria: Hard to say. They could be everywhere.

Y/n: So how did this place fall?

Artoria: Well if I remember correctly this kingdom use to have a underground subway tunnel where they can transport supplies from this kingdom to another. However as the result to it they bypass the danger of Grimm, while also setting up an aggressive perimeter defence that worked for a short period of time. It didn't last long and soon they place became overwhelmed by Grimm and those who lived here were either escaped or killed.

Y/n: Welp looks like I'm not gonna get any sleep tonight.

Artoria: This is why we should never let this happen to other kingdoms. We need to protect them at all cost.

Igris: And we will continue doing so.

Alex: (smile) Yeah.

Y/n continue using his scope of his rifle until he spotted something.

Y/n: Check this out.

They walk over and they each take turns look at the scope and see two White Fang patrolling through the streets.

Artoria: That's them alright.

Igris: Should we capture them?

Y/n: Artoria?

Artoria: Your team, you make the decision.

Y/n: In that case we follow them. They are in their patrol right? Meaning they will return to base sooner or later.

Artoria: (smirk) Good idea. Okay boys let's follow them.

(Hours later)

They follow the patrolling White Fang as they hide behind cover while slowly following them. Sometimes they look behind them which they quickly hide and soon they keep walking.
