Chapter Ten ~ The Show Must Go On

Rui's POV:

Tsukasa would come and visit me everyday. He would bring me candy and plenty of kisses, along with news of what was going on.

From what Tsukasa relayed back to me, the stage directions I was coming up with were going fantastic, and everything I wanted to happen was working. Now all they needed was their stage manager out of the hospital to start tech week!

...

Going to school after three weeks, I was released early, is different than a first day. My locker was filled with "get better soon" cards and flowers, which was a hassle to clean...but appreciated!

And I could finally hang out with my friends again!

My burns had healed mostly, just scarred...and my spinal injury has been gone for two weeks. I was good as new!

And by the time drama club rolled around, I was smiling non-stop.

🎈: "No, no...this piece should go there, instead. In its place because negative space isn't pretty...let's put that fake wave! Actually, tell the set builders to make three more of them, I like how they look!"

I finished up with the set design, and moved over to our teacher. She had asked me to set everything up for tech week to start, and it was really fun. I had so far conducted the scene changes for the stage crew, worked with the lighting changes, and I now just had to speak with the leads to costume changes practiced.

I'll start with Tsukasa, my darling boyfriend!

🎈: "Kasa! I need you for a moment, love."

Tsukasa had told me a thousand times to keep our relationship out of the play, because he had to stay focused, but I couldn't help it! How can he expect me not to want to kiss him and tell him I love him?!?

🌟: "Oh? One second, Emu!"

Tsukasa walked away from Emu, who began to wander off somewhere after being left unsupervised.

🌟: "What is it?"

I leaned in and gave Tsukasa a kiss, and he instinctively kissed back, before I got serious again.

🎈: "We need to practice your quick change...or changes, because you actually have two. The first one in act one where you run off the stage in the starting outfit, then come back on twenty seconds later in outfit two. Let's do that one first!"

Tsukasa sighed, before just agreeing. He was probably hoping for more kisses...

He'll have to wait!

Tsukasa's POV:

It's crazy how you can go from despising someone to loving them in so short of a time...

Or maybe I've loved Rui all along...but it doesn't matter. Currently we were at his house, cuddling and playing a board game with Nene and Emu. Emu and Nene were winning...by a long shot, and Nene seemed to be rubbing that in to me at every chance.

🤖: "You have to give us something if you don't have enough money to pay."

🌟: "Damnit, Rui! I told Nene I would win!"

Sometimes opening up your heart is the best option.

Forgiveness got me friends, the lead role in a play, and the most amazing boyfriend ever.
