➪ reminder - the weeknd

☙ꨄ☆ꨄ❧

About a week later:

Jude's pov:

"Val, are you ready yet? We have to leave, otherwise we'll be late", I yell from outside the bathroom where Valentina has been getting ready for the past hour or so. I swear, this woman does way too much for her appearance.

"In a minute. I'm almost done", I hear her reply.
I let out a small groan at her response. Everytime she says something like that it usually means I have to wait at least another 20 minutes.

"Why do you have to get ready here anyways? Can't you do that at your place and we'll meet at the party?", I question.
"We need to arrive there together, I already told you that. Just listen for once", she complains, "Plus I'm filming a 'get ready with me in my boyfriend's bathroom' for my socials."

I still don't understand why she finds it so important for us to show up at places together. We're only going to Rodrygo's birthday party. It's not like there'll be tons of paparazzi or so to make sure we get there in one car. The party is literally at his house so who cares if we arrive there separately.

*i know rodrygo's birthday is in january but let's just pretend it's at the end of september for this story. i mean it's fiction so it doesn't matter that much ig🤷🏼‍♀️*

I make my way down the stairs and towards the living room before I let myself fall onto my couch. I quickly grab the remote, turn on the TV and press play on some random show to pass the time. Like I predicted Valentina walks downstairs about 20 minutes later.

"Why are you so lazy and only sit on the couch? Get up already and put on your shoes", she tells me as soon as she reaches me.
"You're 'in a minute' turned into more than 20 like it usually does. I just decided to watch something while waiting for you", I hit back matching her attitude.

"Don't get sassy on me now and get your ass up", she returns annoyed.
'That's what she said', is all I can think. However, I'm not in the mood to argue with her once again so I just get up and make my way to the hallway. After putting on shoes and grabbing my phone and car keys we make our way out of my house.

About two hours later:

Currently I'm sitting on the couch in Rodrygo's house with some of the other boys around me while everyone's just chatting to each other. I take part in the conversation but I'm only partly listening to what they're saying. Val has busied herself with talking to some of the other women at the party.

"Arda, who are you texting all the time? You're at a party and your focus is only on your phone", Aurélien says bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Wait, give me a sec. I have to finish this text", Arda replies and it doesn't seem like he fully listened to what Aurel said.

"I bet he's texting a girl", Cama cuts in. Since he sits next to the younger boy he leans closer to the side on order to see Arda's phone screen.
"Ay, privacy please", the Turk boy replies while shutting off his phone.
"Tell us who you're talking to and we'll respect your privacy", Vini smirks.

Arda just sighs and lets out a chuckle but still tells us.
"Fine. Yes, I'm texting with a girl. I met her about a week ago", he explains.
"Ooh, I was right", Cama says excitedly, "So did anything more happen? Give us some info already."

"Well, I asked her out and we actually went on a date on Thursday", he tells us trying to hide his smile and excitement, "But that's all I'll give you. I don't need you to be all in my business. I don't know yet if this situation will actually turn into something and I don't want to jinx it, you know."
