Without any intention for it even happening the last night was long but good. At least for now for it's been the best decision of her life. Meeting her daughter she thought she'd never see again is the best thing that has happened to her in all her life yet and maybe the best thing that would ever happen to her.
Scared of the sudden 'bing' of her phone Taylor's attention goes from her thoughts to her phone and back. Still thinking about the good events of last night she finds a message from Tree Paine - her publicist. Strangely Tree's planned a meeting with her publicity team in just half an hour. That wasn't normal but with her thoughts about last night she is just as much unattended in the moment as her hair is tousled.
Furthermore even more weird she has a lot more messages from her mom, dad and brother. But f it would be urgent they'd call her, right? With the social media and phone detox she wants to do she doesn't want to look at the messages for now. Even though she can just barely resist to look at all her social medias she still gets a scarce look on some with headlines including her name. Every second morning they were some. Even though she wants to look at how the people now think of her she knows it's not good for her and closes them. Maybe it is good fate for her to not look at it as it would ruin her perfectly good morning. Maybe it was bad fate 'cause if she would just look at them she'd know what's homing for her.
"Children grow and women produce" it now comes from the speaker as Taylor jumps into the shower. Maybe 'Jenny from the block' isn't really her hairbrush song anymore but still she now likes to listen to it. The song seems to remind her of the days when she was just 16. When she's published her first self titled album. Or when her family had moved to Nashville for her to even have the Chance for a musical career. The time she's wrote her first full song 'Lucky you' or the first lyric ever that's come to her head when she was ten and as a joke gave her best friend a kiss. Then again the monitors of last night and all the good thoughts suck her in again.
It feels good. Her actions last night feel right. A warm feeling that Taylor embraces until it's gone. With the last lyrical line of the song the blonde woman with wet hair though still not washed notices how fast the time has gone by. As fast as she can she showers, blow drys her hair and dresses up while attempting to start the laptop. Attempting to start the laptop that she's used a lot the last few days, especially last night and thus has sucked out all b power out of it.
With the meeting already staring in less than 2 minutes and her searching everywhere she doesn't notice anything happening around her. She doesn't notice time passing or anything else. As still she has to get her hair fully ready she decides to do that instead of searching for the cable. Maybe her phone wasn't the best device for a meeting as she always types notes on there she sees it as her last option and starts to log in there while getting a hair tie.
With just about 10 seconds left she sits down and notices the meeting already started on her plucked in laptop. 'When have I done that' it goes through mind in the exact same second she sees Joe beside her with a coke.
"Thank you babe" she says while already opening her camera and microphone.
"Thank you for searching for the cable, plucking my laptop in and getting me a coke"
With that and Joe answering "You know I'd do anything for you ba-"
"Taylor" it suddenly comes from the computer scaring Taylor and cutting Joe off.
"What did you want to say Joe" Taylor asks now cutting Tree Paine off while trying to start the next sentence.
Instead of getting a real answer she just gets a "Nothing" from the dirty-blonde man or more of looking like a boy in an adult body with the spider Pyjamas once again.
'Spider boy, king of thieves
Weave your little web of opacity'
A new thought comes to her mind though not for long as with Tree Paine now yelling "Taylor" for the third time in a row it seems to fly away. It goes away as fast as it came and the meeting begins."Taylor have you seen the headlines?" Tree can finally ask the blonde woman with wrinkles on her forehead showing her concern.
Now finally looking at her social medias and the news website she sees it. She sees the headlines. Not ones directly about her.
They are headlines she never wished someone or even a 16 year old girl to be about.
She snaps. It's enough. Taylor packs a bag, gets to the car and tells one of her bodyguards to later get her bag. She just drives. She doesn't really know where but just somewhere. Somewhere in the direction to Maroon. So hey guys here already is the next chapter and I know I promised more tension but this chapter just fitted perfectly here and the next one is with the tension guys. I will try to hold my promise. Have a good day :)
