Obanai and Giyuu were walking side by side through the crowded streets of Tokyo. The sun was high in the sky, casting a golden hue on the city below. Obanai could feel the warmth on his skin, seeping into his bones and filling him with an unexpected sense of contentment.
They had decided to go out for lunch together, something they rarely did. Obanai usually kept to himself, and Giyuu was known for being emotionless and aloof. But somehow, they had found solace in each other's presence. They didn't have to say much; their silence was comfortable and easy.
As they walked, their shoulders occasionally brushed against each other, sending a shiver down Obanai's spine. He tried to ignore the feeling, but it was impossible to deny the growing attraction he felt towards his fellow Demon Slayer.
Eventually, they arrived at the estate where Obanai lived with his family. It was a large, traditional Japanese home surrounded by a meticulously maintained garden. Obanai's parents were wealthy merchants who often traveled for business, leaving their son alone most of the time.
"Would you like to come in?" Obanai asked tentatively as they stood at the front gate.
Giyuu nodded silently, his expression unchanged. He followed Obanai through the garden and into the house, removing his sandals at the entrance as custom dictated.
"This way," Obanai said softly as he led Giyuu through the labyrinthine halls of his home. Finally, they arrived in a small tea room overlooking a koi pond.
Obanai knelt on one of the floor cushions and motioned for Giyuu to do the same. He poured them both cups of green tea with trembling hands as he tried to calm his racing heart.
"I have something... important to tell you," Obanai began nervously after taking a sip of his tea.
Giyuu looked at him, his expression unreadable. He waited silently for Obanai to continue.
"I... I was born female," Obanai confessed, averting his gaze from Giyuu's piercing blue eyes.
There was a brief moment of silence as Giyuu processed the information. Then, he spoke in his usual monotone voice. "Does that mean you identify as male?"
Obanai nodded, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "Yes, I've always felt more like a man than a woman. But no one in the Corps knows this... except for you now."
Giyuu reached out and placed a hand on top of Obanai's. The simple gesture sent a jolt of electricity through Obanai's body.
"Thank you for trusting me with this," Giyuu said quietly, his voice filled with genuine warmth.
Obanai looked up at Giyuu, his heart swelling with affection. He had never met someone so understanding and accepting before. In that moment, he knew that he had fallen in love with Giyuu.
Without thinking, Obanai leaned forward and pressed his lips against Giyuu's in a gentle kiss. His heart was pounding in his chest as he waited for Giyuu's reaction.
To his surprise, Giyuu kissed him back just as softly. It was a chaste and tender kiss, but it sent sparks flying through Obanai's veins.
They pulled away from each other slowly, their faces flushed and their eyes locked together.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," Obanai admitted shyly.
Giyuu gave him a small smile – the first genuine smile Obanai had ever seen on his face – and squeezed his hand reassuringly.
"We have all the time in the world," Giyuu said softly.
