A cute but tragic romcom between an introvert guy Ethan who wants to be a musician and angelica reed who is a famous girl in his campus. Ethan has a huge crush on Angelica like every other guy. As he tried to get close with her, his life changed dra...
The bus ride was a mix of heaven and hell. On one hand, I was close enough to Angelica to smell her perfume. On the other hand, I was stuck next to Jake, who was yapping away like a hyperactive chihuahua.
As the bus rumbled along, I tried to focus on the scenery, but my eyes kept drifting to Angelica. She was laughing and talking with Derek, their heads close together. My stomach twisted in knots, like I'd swallowed a bag of angry snakes.
Jake's voice was like nails on a chalkboard. "Dude, did you hear about the prank I'm planning? It's gonna be epic! They'll never see it coming!"
"Uh-huh," I muttered, not really listening. My mind was elsewhere, fixated on Angelica's laughter and the way Derek seemed to monopolize her attention.
"And then," Jake continued, oblivious to my disinterest, "we're gonna swap their coffee with decaf. Can you imagine their faces?"
I glanced at Jake, trying to muster some enthusiasm. "Yeah, sounds... great."
He kept talking, and I kept pretending to listen, all while my eyes drifted back to Angelica. She looked so happy, and it made my chest ache.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we reached our destination: Superior National Forest. It was night by the time we pulled up to the hotel. The bus came to a stop, and I practically leapt out of my seat, eager to escape Jake's relentless chatter.

We trudged into the hotel, where we were assigned rooms. Each room had two students. I was praying I wouldn't get stuck with Jake or Derek. My luck had to change at some point, right?
I opened the door to my room and found a blond tall guy already unpacking. He turned around with a big grin. "Heyyy! I'm Sam. Looks like we're roomies!"
Great. Another extrovert. I forced a smile. "Hey, I'm Ethan. Nice to meet you."
Sam was a whirlwind of energy. "Man, I'm so pumped for this trip! Did you see the forest? It's gonna be amazing! We can go hiking, maybe even spot some wildlife. What are you into? Do you like hiking? Or maybe you're more into canoeing?"
I plopped my bag on the bed and tried to keep up with his rapid-fire questions. "Uh, yeah, hiking's cool. Canoeing sounds fun too."
Sam didn't stop for breath. "Awesome! We're gonna have a blast. So, where are you from? What are you studying? Got any hobbies?"
I felt like I was on an interrogation show. "I'm Minnesota and I'm from Ethan. Wait wait no i mean I'm Ethan from Minnesota and studying business. I, uh, play guitar."
"Cool, cool! I love music. Maybe you can play something for us around the campfire!"
I nodded, hoping he'd run out of steam soon. "Yeah, maybe sure why not."
Sam kept talking, filling the room with his chatter. I just wanted to lie down and shut out the world. My whole body ached, and my head felt like it was stuffed with cotton. I managed to mutter, "Glad to meet you, Sam," before collapsing onto the bed.
