"That's it? That's how it ends?" The boy asks as the guy shuts the book and chuckles before nodding.
"Yep, that's the end" The boy whines in annoyance.
"What kinda ending is that?! It's not happy!" The boy complains as the guy smiles and shakes his head before sitting down beside him on the couch after putting his book back on the shelf.
"Not every story has a happy ending," He said as the boy pouted and looked down at his hands. He bites his inner cheek. The guy notices this and removes his glasses before setting them aside on the side table.
"What is it?" The guy asks as the boy blinks and then looks at his teacher. He was someone who was extremely shy and reserved. He preferred to stay silent when he had questions and preferred to rack his mind trying to make sense of himself. The teacher leans back and waits for him to finally ask.
"Why... why did they have to die...?" He asks softly. The teacher's eyes slowly soften at his question and he smiles softly before he sighing and throwing his head back to look at the ceiling.
"So that they could be together in the afterlife" He whispers. The boy looks at him and blinks.
"Afterlife exists?"
"I don't know honestly... but... wherever they are... they are together..." His eyes soften as he slowly closes them. The boy notices as he slowly places his hand on his teacher's knees.
"Satoru Sensei... do you think it's a coincidence that you have the same name as the main character from the story?" He asks as Satoru chuckles and looks down at his student. He shrugs and smiles.
"Maybe... I am the very Satoru Gojo from the novel who has reincarnated" He jokes with a chuckle but the student blinks and nods.
"Then... did you search for your Suguru?" He asks causing Satoru to pause. He gulps down the lump that formed in his throat as he smiles and shakes his head.
"Not yet... if I am really Satoru from the novel then I will meet Suguru too," Satoru says and the student smiles and nods.
"Can you tell me when you meet him?" He asks as Satoru chuckles and ruffles his hair before nodding.
"Sure thing, Megumi"

With a twinkle of the bell, Satoru enters his regular cafe as usual. He approaches the counter with a jacket draped over his shoulders. As soon as he arrives at the counter, his feet halt upon the view of a new worker who was standing taking the orders. His blue eyes widened as he stared at him until the worker looked at him and presented him with a gentle smile.
"What would you like?" He asks, his voice so soft and velvety that Satoru wants to drown in it. His Adam's apple bops as he gulps and lets out an awkward cough before clearing his throat.
"Ahem... are you new?" He asks. His heart beats harshly inside his chest as he stares at this gorgeous human being in front of him.
"Ah yeah, it's my first day today, are you a regular?" He asks as Satoru nods. The boy smiles and bows.
"I am sorry, may I know what your regular is?"
"Latte"
"Coming up instantly, what name should I write down?" He asks as Satoru gulps.
"Satoru" The guy pauses and lets out a gentle laugh before noting down the name.
"It's funny, have you by chance read the novel 'The Broken Promise'?" He asks as Satoru lets out a small laugh and nods.
"It's my favorite," He says as the boy smiles and looks down on the name.
"Then maybe it's a coincidence since my name is..." He pauses and looks back at Satoru. His deep dark black eyes stared at the bright blue ones.
"Suguru"
A/n: I am sure you can guess the reference to the cafe thing. I came across this fanart months back and it was so beautiful that I wanted to write something containing that scene. With that came this fanfiction.
It's funny because I wasn't really gonna write something on SuguSato but here I am.
I was instantly taken aback by the support I got just after uploading a few chapters.
And I am beyond thankful for your love and support. Thank you so much for reading this fic this far and supporting me.
I am truly grateful!
I might write an epilogue and finish this story.
Another reason behind my writing this was my own life and me meeting someone who I would associate with Satoru.
Even though we love each other greatly, our lives aren't meant to be together in this lifetime.
So I hope that if the afterlife does exist...
I would very much love to meet her again and love her.
To my Satoru,
You loved me greatly my dear, and I loved you as much. But it's no secret that we aren't meant to end up together in the future. Our farewell was painful and I still hurt to this day, i don't know if you're reading this or not but believe me I have never loved someone as much as I have loved you. Till my last breath, I will never love someone with the same passion I loved you. Please be happy and stay safe.
I love you more than I have ever loved myself.
And I know you loved me more than I could've ever loved myself.
I am so sorry Love...
Please be happy and safe.
I love you to this day.
