Class: Leviathan:

Jaws:

The Gulper Leviathan's most notable feature is its set of four highly mobile jaws. These jaws can launch forward with incredible speed, ensnaring prey and dragging them towards its gaping mouth. The jaws are lined with serrated teeth capable of cutting through the toughest hide.

Limbs:

It possesses a pair of fins that have evolved into muscular limbs. These limbs serve multiple purposes:

Propulsion: They aid in pushing the leviathan off the seabed with powerful strokes.

Restraint: They can hold onto prey or fend off competing predators.

Slashing: Equipped with sharp edges, the limbs can slash at threats or prey, inflicting severe wounds.

Stabilization: They help stabilize the creature in the strong currents of deep-sea environments.

Behavior:

The Gulper Leviathan is an opportunistic feeder, consuming anything that fits into its cavernous mouth. If prey is too large, the leviathan will attempt to crush it with its powerful jaws. It uses electromagnetic signals to hunt, making it particularly attracted to areas with wrecked technology, which can emit faint electromagnetic fields.

Habitat and Migration

Preferred Biomes:

The Gulper Leviathan thrives in deep, dark areas of the ocean where there is minimal light. This includes:

Abyssal Plains: Flat areas on the ocean floor with few physical obstructions.

Ocean Trenches: Deep, narrow valleys that provide ample hiding spots and hunting grounds.

Hydrothermal Vents: Regions with geothermal activity, which attract various forms of marine life, making it a rich hunting ground for the leviathan.

Migration Patterns:

The Gulper Leviathan migrates based on the availability of food. During periods of scarcity in its primary habitat, it may move towards slightly shallower waters, following schools of fish or other prey species. Seasonal changes in water temperature and pressure can also influence its migration, although it generally remains within the deep-sea regions.

Weaknesses:

Light Sensitivity: Although it thrives in dark environments, sudden exposure to bright light can disorient the leviathan, making it less effective in hunting and defense.

Pressure Dependence: It is adapted to the high pressures of deep-sea environments. Significant changes in pressure, such as those found in much shallower waters, can cause physical stress or even be fatal.

Electromagnetic Disruption: As it relies on electromagnetic signals to hunt, devices that can emit disruptive electromagnetic waves might confuse or repel the creature.

Countermeasures

Avoidance:

Stay clear of known habitats of the Gulper Leviathan, especially abyssal plains and ocean trenches. Utilize submersibles equipped with bright lights to create a deterrent, but use them sparingly to avoid attracting other deep-sea predators.

Protection:

Arm submersibles with Perimeter defense systems to disrupt the leviathan's hunting senses if encountered. Implement pressure-resistant barriers and reinforced structures when exploring or setting up habitat's in deep-sea regions.

Size: Specimen is measured to be 55 meters (180 feet)

Assessment: Extreme threat - The Gulper Leviathan poses a severe threat to anything that fits into its mouth.
