"(Y/N), come with me," Sheldon said, taking a hold of (Y/N)'s hand. (Y/N) blushed, glancing down at their interlocked fingers. "What for?" they questioned, raising a brow.

He didn't answer, as he still held their hand and walked them along the sidewalk of his neighborhood, sneaking in small glances at (Y/N) as their eyes twinkled with the lights on different houses for the 4th of July, the red white and blue colours dazzling each home.

Finally, Sheldon came to a halt, letting (Y/N) stand beside him. "Where are-" but before they could finish their question, they'd turned their head ahead to see where exactly he'd taken them. Before their eyes were one of the most beautiful places they'd ever seen.

A long, steep, grassy hill with all kinds of flowers springing from the ground, giving it a pop of colour. Standing tall on the hill was a long tree, beautiful fairy-looking lights spread along each branch, the limbs falling down just a bit for some shade. Though it was nearing night, that just made matters even more impressive. The lights gave the sky some way to see, along with the twinkled stars. The different types of flowers, big and small, gave the hill a bunch of colour and boldness. (Y/N) stared at the sight, their eyes glistening with the small amount of brightness.

"S-Sheldon...this is stunning," they muttered, their grip on Sheldon's hand tightening. He couldn't help but smile. He never really showed any clear emotion to anyone, but, (Y/N) was the exception. Seeing them happy made him happy, the look in their eyes as something cheered them up made him smile.

"Do you like it?" he asked, staring upon the gaze with them. (Y/N) chuckled in surprise, wondering how could even ask such a question. "Do I like it? No, I don't. I love it!" they grinned, glancing at him. "Are we here to watch the fireworks?"

"Yes," he said, the same smile still plastered along his face. Tugging them along, Sheldon and (Y/N) walked through the grass, before settling down on a small mat that was carefully placed under the pretty tree. "I'm guessing this was for sanitary reasons?" (Y/N) asked, a small giggle igniting from their words. Sheldon raised a brow, turning his head to them.

"Of course, who knows what kind of bacteria is in the dirt? And bugs on the grass? No thank you," he proudly replied, looking away again. (Y/N) chuckled, before resting their head on his shoulder, their hair swaying along with them. "This was very sweet of you, Sheldon."
They said, looking up at them from the sky. Sheldon blushed, looking down at them.

"Good," he said, looking away again with a smile. (Y/N) blushed, before placing their hand on his forearm, snuggling into him. "When will the fireworks start?" they whispered, glancing up at him. Sheldon opened his mouth to speak, before something interrupted him.

The loud sounds of blasting fireworks shook the atmosphere, causing the two to flinch quickly. (Y/N) grinned, glancing up to see Sheldon's reaction. The amount of colours were countless, red, green, purple, pink, blue, white, orange, red again...it was so on and so on.

But it was astonishing. Small fireworks turned so big, it took up the whole sky, lighting up (Y/N) and Sheldon's faces with many colours. "Thank you for this, Sheldon. I love you." (Y/N) uttered, smiling without taking their gaze off the sky.

Sheldon blushed, looking down at them. "I...love you, too, (Y/N)."
