i'm listening to: a boy is a gun by tyler, the creator

Their chest began to throb, the violent coughs flowing through their ears. It was terrible, they hated it. It was like no matter what they did, they ended it with coughing or gasping for air. It was obvious by now, they were done hiding it. When they finally told Mary, she was as sweet as could be. Offering her an inhaler each time, grinning. (Y/N) would return it, but more soft.

Although, (Y/N) wasn't totally sure Sheldon knew. But, as smart as he was, they figured he'd have solutions. But, he was also crazily clueless, how hadn't he realized yet? So, they were on their way to his room to tell him, nervously fiddling with their fingers. What would he even say? "OK."?

(Y/N) raised their fist, softly bouncing their knuckles against the hardwood. They took a deep breath, hoping this would go well. Why were they so nervous?

"Yes?" Sheldon's voice broke the silence, pulling his door open quickly. Revealing (Y/N) standing there, their hand still raised, and face staring blankly into the abyss. "Oh!" they exclaimed, finally putting their hand down into their pocket, and smiling softly at him. He just raised a brow. "Y-Yeah, uh- so, I've been meaning to tell you something. Mary told me that I needed to tell you,"

they murmured, looking away as their cheeks flushed a light pink. Sheldon stared at them nonchalantly, clearly not a thought in his head. (Y/N) gulped anxiously, glancing at his face. "What is it?" he asked, confused by their reaction. "Uh," they began. "So, y'know how sometimes I cough violently when I'm active?" they said, raising a brow as they smiled.

Sheldon nodded, surprisingly holding eye contact. "Yes, I have been forgetting to question you about that." He said, furrowing his brows, beckoning them to continue.

"Well, I...found out that it was because I have asthma." They uttered, smiling nervously as they looked at him, studying his features. Sheldon's brows raised. Oh no, maybe they shouldn't have told him. "Oh," he began. "OK. Although I'm not very familiar with that diagnosis, I can try and help whenever you need it." He said, looking away slowly as he blushed.

"Don't tell anyone about this, you're the only person I would consider."

Huh? Before they knew it, his fingers began to intertwine between theirs, the feel of his soft skin rubbing against theirs made them smile. The two looked away from each other, barely containing their smiles. Their cheeks were bright pink. Although it was a small gesture that probably didn't mean much to him, it meant a lot to (Y/N).

If they ever needed help next time, they knew who they would come to now.
