High School Drama [SONADOW]

Chapter 13 - Morning Drama

The sun rose up to thaw the cold air as it lights up the town that lazy weekend morning. Shadow's eyes twitched when the light hit his face through the gap between his room's thick curtains and it slowly woke him up. He turned himself to the other side so his eyes wouldn't hurt when he actually opened them. He raised his hands up and stretched himself before he slowly sat up and threw the blanket away.

He took his phone and checked the time. Still a little early but he's used to waking up at that time. He put his phone away and got up to head to the bathroom before starting his day.

He joined Mephiles downstairs for breakfast, Shadow usually love something savory like eggs or bacons while his twin love to start his day with something sweet like pancakes or muffins. They both sat down on the long dining table and ate their meals together.

"Do you have any plans for today?" The paler one asked.

"I'm actually picking Sonic up this noon to our house. I'm helping him with his homework and cheer routine."

Mephiles' ears perked. It's as if the hang out the other day wasn't enough for Shadow.

"Hey, do you like Sonic?" He bluntly asked the risky question without thinking.

Shadow froze for a second and turned his head to stare at his brother. It was awkward.

"Yes."

"Oh. Wait, shit? Really?"

"He's just so..." Shadow moved his gaze back to his plate and smiled, "adorable."

Mephiles couldn't believe what he just heard. On one hand, he was kind of happy that Shadow found someone he could feel comfortable with after his recent break up. On the other hand, he didn't expect his twin to actually have a crush on one of the cheer members.

"Wow, okay." He chuckled and rested his chin on his palm, "so when are you gonna date him?"

"I'm working on it. It's a slow process." Shadow assured. "I can't be too quick, Sonic wanted to jump out of my car when I did that."

Mephiles widen his eyes. He couldn't tell if he was joking or serious.

Suddenly, their silence was cut short when the buzzing sound of Shadow's phone vibrated the table. He picked up his phone to answer the call, it was from their father.

Mephiles didn't really want to hear his conversation, so he got up and took both his and Shadow's empty plate. He head to the counter where the sink was and washed the dishes.

"Yeah...I know...alright. Bye." Shadow ended the call and got up. "I need to get to dad's office to bring some papers. You wanna come?" He asked his brother.

"No thanks, but can you get me a sticky cherry on the way?"

"Alright." Shadow said before going to the living room to get his keys. He took the papers his father asked him to bring, put them in a file map, then headed out.

Shadow exited the office after he met with his parent. He got in his car again then drove away to find a convenience store. He decided to go to the store that was near his school. The place was famous for the students there and the cashier was friendly.

He parked his car, got out and went inside the store to find what Mephiles asked him to buy. He looked through the many options of the candy on the shelves, he also wanted to get something for himself.

"Shadow?"

Ruby eyes moved to his left and saw the familiar azure hedgehog with a drink in hand.

"Sonic." He smiled. "Good morning."
