Sky had been showering when she reached for her lavender body wash only to find an empty container. This wasn't the first time this had happened and usually, she'd forget about it and go buy more but her anger from earlier fueled her as she changed into pajamas and went to find her brother.
She stomped down the hallway and threw open Stiles’ door, revealing Scott and him and dozens of papers on the ground. “Did you use the rest of my lavender body wash?”
“Sky! Glad you're here!” Stiles rambled as he gave his sister a frantic look. “Just sit down, you need to hear this.”
“I don't know if you've noticed but I kind of live here,” Sky snapped, still annoyed at the boy. “Also hi Scott.” The stunned boy gave a small wave back. He was unsure of how a girl wearing pink fluffy pajama shorts could look so terrifying as she fumed, but here she was. “My body wash Stiles! Answers before I tell Dad what happened to his second favorite mug.”
“It smells nice and I need to relax,” Stile explained quickly, completely brushing off his sister's anger. “Just listen Sky!” Stiles yelled and gestured for her to sit down by Scott. She begrudgingly did though she still felt like strangling her brother. “The wolf! The bite in the woods. I started doing all this reading. Do you even know why a wolf howls?”
“Should we?” Sky asked, concerned. By the way, Stiles was jumping back and forth between topics it was clear he hadn't slept. “When was the last time you slept and how much Adderall is currently in your system sti?”
“Too much,” he answered quickly before going back to what he was saying. “It's a signal, okay?” Stiles explained frantically. He was standing above the pair now. “When a wolf's alone I howls to signal its location to the rest of the pack. So if you heard a wolf howling that means others could have been nearby. Maybe even a whole pack of them.”
“A whole pack of wolves.?” Scott asked intrigued about what Stiles was on about.
“No, werewolves.”
Sky sighed and ran a hand down her face, anger boiling over. “Stiles I'm so done with this stupid joke. I have things to do.”
“You're seriously wasting our time with this? You know I'm picking up Allison in an hour,” Scott hissed as he stood up and grabbed his bag.
“I have to go get ready,” Sky sighed as she also stood.
“I saw you on the field today Scott. Okay, what you did out there wasn't just amazing, it was impossible,” Stiles rushed out, laughing a bit. “And Sky you caught that ball like it was nothing the other day! It should've broken your hand!”
“Yeah so I made a good shot,” Scott mumbled, saddened by his best friend's accusation.
Sky wrinkled her nose and crossed her arms. “I'm sorry I didn't break my hand,” she grumbled. “I'll try harder next time.”
“No, you made an incredible shot! And you caught that ball so easily! Your moves, your speed, your reflexes!” Stiles rambled. “People can't just suddenly do that overnight. And the vision and senses and don't think I don't notice that Scott doesn't even use his inhaler anymore!”
“Okay, dude I can't think about this now!” Scott interrupted, annoyed. “We'll talk tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow! What? No!” Stiles frantically yelled. It was like Scott had told Stiles he was going into a knife fight. “The full moon’s tonight! Don't you get it?”
“What are you trying to do?” Scott demanded. “I just made first line, I got a date with a girl who I can't believe wants to go out with me. Everything in my life is somehow perfect. Why are you trying to ruin it?”
“I'm trying to help,” Stiles corrected, grabbing papers off his desk. “You two are cursed, Scott. You know, and it's not just the moon that'll cause you to physically change. It'll also be when your bloodlust will be at its peak.”
“Bloodlust?” Sky scoffed from where she'd been silently stewing on the bed.
“Yeah, your urge to kill,” Stiles explained ignorantly.
“I'm already feeling an urge to kill, Stiles,” Scott mumbled angrily to his friend.
“Welcome to my world,” Sky sighed as she ran a hand down her face. Stiles often annoyed her but right now he was pushing it.
Stiles spun around in his chair to grab a book. “You gotta hear this- ‘Change can be caused by anger or anything that raises your pulse.’” He spun around to look at Scott. “Alright? I haven't seen anyone who raises your pulse like Allison does. You gotta cancel this date.” He reached over and grabbed Scott's bag. “I'm gonna call her right now.”
“What are you doing?”
“I'm canceling the date,” Stiles explained, looking for Allison's contact in Scott's phone.
“Stiles stop! Give Scott his phone back!” Sky demanded as she stood up and tried to grab the phone from him.
“No, give it to me!” Scott yelled furiously before pinning Stiles against the wall, his fist raised.
Sky stood behind them frozen. “Scott I get Stiles was being a dick but please put him down.” After he didn't she repeated herself, “Scott please.”
Scott turned and smacked Stiles’ desk chair over before looking back at his best friend, anger gone. “I'm sorry,” he stammered. “I-I gotta go get ready for the party.” He moved around Sky and grabbed his stuff from the bed before walking to the door. “I'm sorry,” he mumbled before quickly leaving.
Stiles turned towards his sister. “Sky listen- please just for once do this one thing for me-”
That restarted her anger real quickly. She glared at her brother. “Don't you dare say that to me! Everything I do is for you! And you think trying to ruin Scott's night is some joke! I just want one night to be a stupid teenager! One!”
“Sky,” Stiles started but it was too late. Skylar stormed out the door, hitting the door frame on the way out. Stiles looked around his room before noticing the claw marks on his chair and door frame.
