My pov

This happens in an alternate world, a world where the council accepted Anakin and Padmé's love. After a vigorous set of trials testing the couple's love to decide whether it was an obstacle or motivation, the law of attachment was uplifted and they happily gained the twins. Now they both are closing in on fifteen and are ready to be selected by their future masters as padawans.

Anakin's pov

3 days till the twins have to go for the padawan selection. Then we're all going on adventures together!

My dreams were interrupted by my son throwing his lightsaber as far away as he could using the force, yelling, "I don't want to be a jedi!"

"Luke, why not? It's so much fun!" Leia said while practicing her defence with a droid.

He looked at her with a frown, any anger that was there before had left, "I just can't do it! The force doesn't bend to my will as it does with you and dad."

"You're sure of that Luke?" I turned around to spot my former master enter the training hall.

"Yes! I wish to be a Senator, their work is much more effective."

I looked down, muttering under my breath, "Mother's boy, through and through."

"Well, if that's what you want... Why don't you leave?" Obi-Wan's words rang in my ears.

My eyes widened as I spoke to my master, "Obi-Wan, you're not his father, if anything happens to him, I'm responsible."

My gaze turned to Luke, "Son, if you leave... there's no coming back."

"I'm sure that I don't want any part of this." He proclaimed.

"Ok, then you are to be dismissed by the Council according to the laws of the code." I walked towards him, bringing the lightsaber into my palm.

"Let's go?"

"Let's go."

I turned my back to my daughter and my master, walking with my son towards the exit.

"Good luck with Master Windu." I could feel Obi-Wan's smug smile on his face.

"I'm gonna die aren't I..."

Luke and I were walking through the corridor, when I heard him mutter something.

"What was that , Luke?"

His head hung low, "I'm sorry that I'm not like Leia. I'm not brave, strong or any good with a lightsaber."

Noticing tears drop from his eyes, I stopped and turned to face him. Embracing him as tight as I could, he felt small. Not physically like Padmé or Leia, but unprotected, innocent and worried.
Worried of upsetting us, of upsetting me.

I whispered into his ear through the hug, "Do you know that I believe that your mother does better work than me, Obi-Wan, Rex, Ahsoka or all of us put-together?"

He tugged out of the embrace to look into my eyes, looking for a sing of mockery.

I explained my statement to him, "She fights for the people, citizens who are ours and who are enemies. All I do is protect them from bullets, she protects them from starvation."

Luke snorted, the same disbelief in his eyes as were in Padmé's when I shared my opinions with her.

"You're just saying all this to make me feel as though I'm doing something beneficial." He snarked.

"You know that isn't true Luke, you were born on the day the war ended. If you were alive before that you would've realised the true might of the Senate." I tried to convince him as we approached the waiting area outside the Council room.
