Chapter 42: Back Home

After an unforgettable honeymoon, Gabi and Daya returned to their respective lives with a renewed sense of love and commitment. The transition from the dreamy days at the beach resort back to their routine was made easier by the memories they carried with them. The shared moments of joy and intimacy provided a foundation for the challenges they knew they would face together.

Gabi walked into the shared apartment she had with her brother Daniel, feeling a mix of emotions. She missed the carefree days of their honeymoon but was also glad to be back in a familiar place. As she entered, she was greeted by the comforting scent of home and the warmth of her brother's embrace.

"Welcome back, sis!" Daniel said, pulling her into a hug. "How was the honeymoon?"

"It was amazing, Danny," Gabi replied, smiling as she hugged him back. "The beach, the resort, everything was perfect. I missed you, though."

"I missed you too," Daniel said, leading her to the living room where they sat down on the couch. "I have someone I want you to meet."

Gabi raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Oh? Who is it?"

Daniel smiled, a hint of nervousness in his eyes. "Her name is Chloe. We've been seeing each other for a while now, and I think you'll really like her."

Just then, the door to the apartment opened, and a woman with auburn hair and a warm smile walked in. Daniel stood up, his face lighting up as he went to greet her.

"Gabi, this is Chloe," Daniel said, introducing them. "Chloe, this is my sister, Gabi."

Chloe extended her hand, her eyes twinkling with friendliness. "It's so nice to finally meet you, Gabi. Daniel talks about you all the time."

Gabi shook her hand, smiling. "Nice to meet you too, Chloe. Any friend of Daniel's is a friend of mine."

They spent the afternoon getting to know each other. Chloe was charming and intelligent, with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Gabi could see why Daniel was so taken with her, and she felt genuinely happy for her brother.

Meanwhile, Daya had gone to visit Isabella to check on Selena. She had missed her daughter dearly during the honeymoon and was eager to spend time with her. As she arrived at Isabella's apartment, she was greeted by the sight of Selena running towards her, arms outstretched.

"Mommy!" Selena exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy.

Daya scooped her up, hugging her tightly. "Hey there, sweetheart. Mommy missed you so much."

Isabella watched the reunion with a soft smile. "She's been asking about you every day. How was the honeymoon?"

"It was wonderful," Daya said, setting Selena down gently. "We had a great time, but I missed her like crazy."

Selena tugged at Daya's hand, looking up at her with wide eyes. "Can we play, Mommy?"

"Of course, baby girl," Daya said, following her daughter into the living room. They spent the next few hours playing with Selena's toys, reading her favorite books, and catching up on everything they had missed.

Back at the apartment, Gabi, Daniel, and Chloe were enjoying dinner together. Chloe had brought over a delicious homemade lasagna, and the three of them laughed and chatted as they ate.

"So, Chloe, what do you do?" Gabi asked, genuinely interested in getting to know her brother's new girlfriend.

"I'm a pediatric nurse," Chloe replied. "I work at the same hospital as Daniel, actually. That's how we met."

Gabi nodded, impressed. "That's amazing. It must be so rewarding to work with kids."

"It really is," Chloe said, smiling. "I love my job. And it's nice to work with someone as wonderful as Daniel."
