One steps forward "sorry, you speak English?" you nod and sigh in relief, he asks "um, how did you get here?" thinking and saying "come and sit by the fire" you let them in and notice they give off a dangerous vibe and shrug, they walk over and smile to the two alert dogs and the cat sitting on the caravan roof.

Digging around then seeing the bear fur you lay it out on the floor along with the wolf one saying "sorry, I haven't bothered to make cushions. The furs are all clean" you place the kettle back on and add more wood "I have coffee, English tea, hot chocolate or some weird homemade booze from a farm?" they chuckle "coffee please" you nod and grab the mugs.

Making it you grab the sugar and the milk and say "help yourself. Okay so I held up over winter on a mountain and suffered through earthquakes the entire three months, when it started to warm up I looked out and saw a mountain appear that wasn't there before" they bite their lips when you continue "so I waited until the quakes stopped but as I looked I saw animals we don't have".

Shrugging "I decided to explore, once down the mountain I found all this flora that was different, luckily I had my books and found they were edible so as I was looking it up I found it can all be found in Asia and kind of broke for a bit. I mean I had traveled across the world over winter. The fuck?" taking a sip you finish with "so I have been traveling around collecting things I want".

They smile as one says "I hate to tell you this but unless you brought land mass with you, there is not much more attached to this bit any more" you blink and frown "you saying it has shrunk?" they all nod as you jerk "well fuck. So how big do you reckon it is now? And where exactly am I?"all blink and chuckle the answer was "we are in Japan and I believe you could travel the whole area in a year?".

Staring at them in shock then frowning "I wonder if I go back to magic mountain I will go somewhere else next year?" they chuckle but think it over and smile "where is this mountain?" you look at them and say "you want to come country hopping with me?" they laugh joyfully, you point in the direction you came from.

They all look and frown "the one behind that small one" looking they see the outline of a mountain then another behind it, they look at you and ask "would you be adverse to having travel companions?" you look at them and place your chin in your palm "can you hunt? Cook?" they all look away as you giggle happily.

Still laughing "okay, but you have to get there and take some local animals and let them loose on the mountain, also find the new water source?" the four look at you and gasp "wait really? As long as we get there and get some livestock up there and find water we are welcome?" shrugging "I have no problem with it. What if it doesn't move?".

They grin "then we have a safe place to live" you wince and say "okay, you need to have some form of house. There is a barn but it is quite small and my caravan was made with one in mind" they look at it and ask to see it, you nod as they get up and look around the whole thing "it's really clever, how did you do it?" smiling "well it actually took me three years to get it this good".

You went on to explain how you ended up making this and why, by the end you smiled and laughed at their faces "so we need a home and to get it there, stock with things needed and animals and find water?" shrugging "the more the merrier as far as supplies are concerned" they all look at each other and ask "we heard furs?" chuckling "when I hunt I obviously skin the kill so I end up with furs".

Swallowing "skinning?" you purse your lips and nod "those two your sat on for example, I skinned them and have preserved the meat. Not the best but better than none" they look down and say "this is a bear and a wolf fur?" you nod "was scared to death, but we manged, didn't we babies?" you get a chorus back.

The four look around and smile at the animals who had settled close, "how far away is it?" you think and frown "only a week? Yeah maybe a bit over but I stayed on the small mountain a few days" they look at you and smile then you ask "oh, is it just you four?" they flinch and nod, you hang your head "sorry, that was a bit stupid to ask".

They all wave you off the smallest asks "so where you going?" thinking "I was going to travel for the next four months then find my wintering place? Now I will travel and pick up things until I come back to the mountain with new things" they all smile softly "I assume you will be okay?" grinning "if I don't come back it's because I am dead" all four flinch as you giggle.

Then shrugging "this world is dangerous but if you cower in one place you become a stagnant target. Make the most of the changes and do what you couldn't before. It's a learning experience" the four look at you and smile gently, "can we trade some furs?" you blink and nod "what you got to trade with?" they look at you and grin "honey and arrows".

You stiffen and stare at them and squint "you really have honey?" they grin and nod "sugar as well" breath hitching you rush into he van and bring out the furs and lay them out "how many you want?" all four jerk and chuckle.
