Ran - Unusual Happenings

Having checked this whole area and finding a few groups of people most hostile, you leave the area with small fires burning in different buildings you look down and frown "I will need a new lighter soon" left at your camp site you sigh and shake your head and go in being greeted by your babies as you cuddle them all with a smile.

Checking what you had collected and placing them away, then grabbing the wolf and bear meat for food tonight, checking what you had you also get down some beef, roasting the beef and stir frying the bear with the veggies you make a curry with the wolf meat, cooking rice and placing the sweet and normal potatoes in the coals as you boil the corn.

Humming as you grate some ginger and make ginger green tea for the cold weather, done with the prep you find the bowls and give them a clean the furs get rolled out again as you look what you found and grumble, seeing the hay and frowning, the food cooking as you dig to find the insides of cushions and cuss.

Hearing voices you look out and see it's them and wave they come in as they see the dogs crunching on big bones your asked "what are the bones?" you look at them and say "bear, maybe deer?" and shrug then see they brought cushions you sigh "thank god, I was looking for stuffing to make cushions".

Leaving the van as they smile at you, they sit down as you ask "what is this booze? I coughed a lung when I sipped it" you give them a glass as they look and sniff "homemade sake" you blink then ask "does it all taste like that?" they shake their heads as you sigh and think about what you picked up and nod "good" serving the food to you all.

They looked and smiles "I feel like I have gone back a few years" you look at the food and say "really? The veggies are relatively new but I pretty much always had some form of meat" shaking their heads "you can hunt" you nod them say "but the animals are loosing their fear of humans, I have had rabbits and a deer ignore I am there?".

Then saying "I have also been attacked by a wolf twice and a bear once?" they frown "you didn't go looking for them? They came to you?" nodding at them as you take a bite and say "so much better in curry" they take a bite of all of it then ask "what is the meat?" you snicker "wolf, bear and beef" all four stop chewing as you take another bite and wink.

They look down then think and continue to eat you make the carnivores their bowls and feed the herbivores then check the stores and groan "I need more hay, I will find some" they look at what you are doing then look at the animals and ask "how did you manage to feed them all?" you look up and smile "the good thing about this new world is that there is plenty of vegetation for them".

They look around then nod as you giggle "this is much better than where I left, we had no buildings standing by the time I left" they look around then the smallest says "we have always had earthquakes so we build with that in mind" you think then nod it makes sense, food finished you boil the kettle as the dishes are placed to wash handing out mugs as you warm the ginger tea you made.

All four sip and blink as you take a sip "do you not like it? I can make something else" your waved off then asked "what is it?" grinning "green tea with ginger and honey, its meant to be good for cold and wet days" sipping with smiles, you get to know them batter when your asked your name, you blink and think about it "Royal, weird I know my dad was a bit odd" they blink.

As they smile and introduce them selves, the smallest says "Mikey" you smile and shake his hand, the tallest says "Sanzu" shaking his hand as well then the other two "Ran and my brother Rindou" shaking their hands and saying "pleasure to meet you all" then you see the rain is tapering off and say "if it stops, I will be off tomorrow, I have so much to see and do".

A little sad at the thought then Ran says "well, we will be waiting for you at the mountain" you smile happily, they leave as you clean up and wave with a grin when they get back they sit and sighed "well we best sort the place for when she gets there" Mikey says to cheer them all up as they chuckle, "yeah she will be upset if it's not all ready" replied Rindou.

As they were giving themselves a pep talk you had gone to bed happy at the thought of your journey continuing, early morning you checked the sky and grinned packing up the carts sorted you sit with the dogs by your seat and flick the reins you leave hearing voices you turn and wave as you leave the area.

Leaving the town you hum and head  straight as the road splits, the horses happy to be out went a bit faster than usual, you make great time when you find a woods you stop and go in to collect mushrooms, the rain plus the sun made it perfect for them, having the book with you to identify which were edible as you collect three baskets, along with a few more herbs and spices.

Finding a black pepper plant you dig it out and plant in a planter then leave, the horses in high spirits you traveled like this for six days when you reach a small town, as you enter you see half of it missing and wince, finding a sheltered area you set camp, then go to search for materials.
