On The Way

It was night, and the drive was long. Illumi watched Hisoka, as he had fallen asleep. He saw how Hisoka smiled in his sleep. Illumi wasn't too familiar with facial expressions, but he liked this one, it made him feel warm and fuzzy inside. He was truly grateful have met Hisoka, though he had realized that their relationship as allies had become a bit less professional, due to recent events. Illumi didn't ever consider having a friend, but he wondered if having a friend made people feel the way Hisoka made him feel. Or perhaps not even a friendship...

Hisoka woke up in the car, taking a moment to realize where he was and who was there. It didn't take long for him to recover from his drunkenness, but he was still hungover.

"Hmm, hello Illumi." Hisoka said, yawning and stretching his arms. "Mmmh I'm sorry, for my behavior earlier; though I hardly remember any of it." He said, chuckling in a low tone. Illumi rolled his eyes at that. Though not often very humorous, Illumi had his moments of sarcasm.

"Where are we?" Hisoka asked, not knowing how he had gotten into the car. "On the way to Yorknew City." Illumi replied. Illumi hadn't really paid attention to the time, seeing as his eyes had remained on Hisoka as he slept. They reached Yorknew at around three in the morning.

The car came to a stop, Hisoka paid the driver, and him and Illumi left the car.

As they got out, they looked around, at the one and only Yorknew City. Many buildings were lit up, even at though it was way past midnight. "Hm, this really is the city that never sleeps, isn't it Illumi?" Hisoka said. "I'm not sure if we'll even get a place to sleep at this hour. At that last hotel, we got the last room on short notice; we were lucky then." Said Illumi. "Oh I almost forgot; I have a home here."
Illumi gave Hisoka a look; "are you serious?" Written all over his face with an expression. "We should have gone there from the beginning, why didn't you say so?" Illumi asked, to which Hisoka just shrugged.

The two then walked for about twenty minutes, to get to Hisoka's place. The lobby seemed fancy, with its marble floors, abstract art on its walls, and modern chandelier. The elevator took them up to the top floor, where they entered Hisoka's penthouse.

"Make yourself at home." Hisoka said, holding a glass of sparkling water as he opened the balcony door. A glass had been filled for Illumi, and was waiting for him on the island counter in the kitchen.

Illumi drank a sip, and almost spit the water out from shock; he had never tried sparkling water before. He took another sip, curiously, before setting his glass on the counter. He bent down slightly, to observe how bubbles seemed to form out of nothing at the bottom of the glass. Hisoka saw what was happening from outside the glass balcony door. "So educated, yet so much to learn." Hisoka thought to himself, as he watched Illumi's fascination over the bubbles, he thought it was cute.

Soon, Hisoka left the balcony, and Illumi seemed to be finished studying the sparkling water. Hisoka led Illumi to a guest bedroom, and he went to his own bed.

Illumi's room didn't have too much in it; the whole place seemed to be quite minimalistic in decor, considering Hisoka's unique style.

Hisoka laid down on his bed. He hadn't stayed at that place in a while. Sure it was nice, but Hisoka didn't really feel at home there; not as it was, in the moment.

Both Illumi and Hisoka fell asleep well, it had been a long day after all.
