The old oak tree outside the window swayed gently in the breeze, Inside, a soft hum filled the room as the TV murmured to itself, and the clock ticked away the seconds.
Jin looked around the living room, his heart racing as he contemplated the situation. His father, a man who had always been a pillar of strength, sat frozen, eyes wide with fear. The cold metal of the gun pressed against his temple by V's men sent a shiver down Jin's spine. He had to think fast. V, or Taehyung as he used to know him, had always been unpredictable, but this was a new level of madness.
With a deep breath, he nodded to the intruder. "Okay, I'll do it" he repeated, his voice shaking slightly. "I'll bring Jimin here. But you have to promise me, you won't hurt my dad." The tension in the room was palpable, a thick, suffocating blanket that made it hard to breathe. V smirked, "Sure, but be careful. There are cops in disguise around his house. They shouldn't know Jimin is coming here to meet me" Jin nodded.
Jin's mind raced as he stepped out of the house, he climbed into the taxi, the urgency of the situation weighing heavily on his shoulders. He gave the driver Jimin's address, his voice shaking slightly. The digital clock on the dashboard ticked away the seconds, each one feeling like an eternity. The journey was short, but to Jin, it felt like hours had passed. His mind raced with scenarios, each more dire than the last. What if he couldn't convince Jimin to come with him? What if the police were already there? What if Taehyung didn't keep his word and hurt his father anyway?
When the taxi finally stopped in front of Jimin's house, the street was silent. The taxi driver, a middle-aged man with a kind face, gave him a questioning look. "You okay, kid?" he asked, noticing the palpable tension in the air. "Yeah, Can you please wait here? It will only take 10 minutes" Jin asked, trying to keep his voice steady. The driver nodded. Jin paid the fare and stepped out, the door slamming shut behind him with a finality that echoed in his ears.
The walk up the path to the door felt like an eternity. His hand trembled as he reached for the doorbell, but he knew he couldn't risk alerting anyone. Instead, he knocked softly, hoping that the sound would be muffled enough to not draw attention from the cops that Taehyung had mentioned. After what felt like an eternity, the door cracked open, and Jimin's father peered out, "Jin?"
Jin stepped closer, his voice low and urgent. "Mr. Park, I need to speak with Jimin. It's really important. Can I come in? " he nodded and let him in. Jin quickly went to Jimin's room, Jimin's eyes wide with surprise. "Why are you here Jin hyung?" he asked, his voice worried because Jin never came unannounced.
"We have to go. Now" Jin said, his voice hushed. "But why? What's happening?" Jimin asked, confused. Jin's eyes searched Jimin's, searching for the strength he needed. "It's Taehyung. He got my dad. He said if I don't bring you to him, he'll..." His voice trailed off, but the unspoken words hung in the air, heavy with implication.
Jimin felt a cold knot form in his stomach, "No, I'm not coming with you, hyung"
Jin's eyes filled with a mix of fear and pleading, "Please jimin. He won't hurt you, you know that very well. But if you don't come, he'll kill my dad. You know he's capable of it."
