Taehyung leaned against the cool metal of his car, watching the sun dip low in the sky. His eyes scanned the bustling street, noticing the way the office workers rushed past each other. Finally, he spotted a flash of familiarity in the sea of unfamiliar faces - Ara emerging from the glass doors of the company building.
She broke into a run as soon as she saw him. Taehyung's heart swelled with affection. He stepped forward to meet her, his arms spread wide.
Their embrace was a rare moment as they didn't meet often. "Oppa," she breathed into his chest, "I missed you so much." He held her closer, "I missed you too, Ara. How's everything going?"
Her grip loosened, and she stepped back, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "It's been tough, oppa. Eomma's health isn't good, she worries about you all the time. Dad... he's going to sell the house for my marriage." She stopped, not wanting to burden him with all their troubles at once.
Before Taehyung could respond, Jia appeared, getting out of the taxi that had just pulled up. She too rushed over, her eyes bright with excitement. The three of them embraced, a temporary shield against the world's hardships.
Yoongi approached with a bag that looked ready to burst at the seams. Taehyung took it, nodding his thanks. He knew his sisters would love the designer clothes and luxury items he had picked out for them, a small token of his love. But their refusal was immediate.
"We can't, Oppa," Jia said, her voice firm. "If Dad saw these, he'll know you're the one who bought these for us. He'll be mad, he won't accept anything from you."
Taehyung's heart sank. He knew his sister was right, but he wanted to spoil his sisters, Mr. Kim was always a stubborn man, refusing help from anyone. Especially his son who chose a different path in life. "Look, I'll figure out something so he'll never find out. Just take these," He said handed the bags to both of them. "I'll not let him sell the house, I'll handle it secretly."
Ara's eyes searched his, a silent question hanging in the air. Taehyung nodded slightly, a promise that he would manage it. He didn't want their father to sell the house, the one place that held their family's memories together. The house was more than just a building.
The sisters exchanged a look, understanding passing between them. They knew their brother was capable of miracles, "Thank you, Oppa" Ara whispered.
"I want to see eomma" Taehyung said, his voice thick with concern. "Call me when dad isn't home, and I'll come over. I need to talk to her."
Ara and Jia nodded in unison, "We'll take care of it" Jia assured him. They bid goodbye and parted their ways, Taehyung climbed into his car.
Taehyung turned to Yoongi. "Let's go," he said, he had to find a way to stop his father from selling the house without alerting him to the source of the money. It was a delicate situation, one that required careful planning and execution.
