It seemed to be a regular summer day like any other. The temperature was nice, warm enough to walk around in a t-shirt and shorts, but not too warm that you would be sweating from just taking a step. The sky was blue, not a single cloud in sight, the sun was shining and flowers bloomed beautifully with little bees flying around to collect all the nectar. Birds were singing quite beautifully and flying around.

Nature could be so beautiful.

Humans on the other hand... not really.

As he finally had some vacation, Kim Hongjoong decided to go for a hike in the mountains, an activity he used to do a lot with his two best friends before an event had changed that. He was a man who was a bit below the average height, had a good body built, brown eyes and short, brown hair. He had always had this hair color, he had been born with it. It determined his life.

In this world, everyone's hair color determined one's destined future and social status:

Brown and black hair meant you were just a regular citizen with little to no influence, nothing special. They would become librarians for example, any job you can name with little influence. Most referred to these people as 'commoners'. 

Blonde and orange/ginger hair meant you were a citizen with little more influence. Doctors and psychologists for example. They still have little influence, but more than those with brown and black hair. A lot of people would called people with these hair colors 'commoners with influence'.

Blue and purple hair meant you would be destined to become very successful and rich. Most of those were CEOs. These have more social influence, a lot even, they are on the third spot of the most social influence. They were the wealthy.

Pink hair meant you would become famous, for what was never the same, some became famous as singers, others as comedians, dancers, actors, etc. And these have more social influence, a lot even. They were the ones with the second most influence. They were the famous

Then there was green and red hair... those meant you would become a criminal of any sorts. Whether it was just a small thief, a serial killer, you name it. You were quite unfortunate if you were born with these hair colors, most people looked down upon on those with these two hair colors. Some pitied them and has sympathy for them... until they learned they shouldn't. People with these hair colors were the criminals.

Some of these hair colors appeared more in the one generation than the other. The one generation could have more blue and purple haired people than in the previous generation. It was unpredictable.

And then there was the rarest of rare. White hair. White hair meant you were destined to be royalty. It only appeared once per generation in each country. People with white hair were the ones destined to become the ruler of the country.

In this world, every country was a monarchy because of this system.

Then there was something that rarely appeared, a combination of the hair colors green or red with any of the other hair colors besides white. Red and blue for example. Usually, half of the hair would be one color and the other half the other color. This was very rare, but it happened.

Of course one could easily dye their hair, at least that's what you'd think. However, this is not easily accessible due to the prices being criminally high and there being very little people willing to dye hair. With red and green hair dye being the cheapest - since nobody would ever want those - and white hair dye being the most expensive, even millionaires struggled to pay for it. And thanks to that, pretty much everyone had the same hair color for their entire life.

Above the prices, it was also illegal to dye your hair any other color than green, red, brown and black. In some countries, it was even punishable by death. However, coloring your hair white was punishable by death in each and every country, it was to ensure that people wouldn't try to fake they're royalty.
