A couple of hours had passed by now and the sun was setting, evening had arrived. The earlier conversation between Hongjoong and Seonghwa had ended and they didn't return to the topic. However, Hongjoong had asked some questions unrelated to the topic.
He had found out that the white haired male was only a few months older than him and the man also has an older brother. They had that in common, Hongjoong had an older brother as well. A thing that was funny to them was how Seonghwa was royalty and his brother was a regular commoner with brown hair, meanwhile Hongjoong was a regular commoner as well, but his brother was a very influential person, a CEO with purple hair.
That just showed how strange this system was and it proved that you could have completely different futures despite being related. It was a strange world with a strange system.
Another thing Hongjoong had figured out was that Seonghwa's house was about thirty minutes away, but the man didn't want to go there in case those criminals had found out he was no longer in the cave. It was a risk he wasn't willing to take.
Right now, the white haired man was watching some tv. He had tried some of the medicine Wooyoung had given him and it did seem to work, his throat hurt less than before. It still hurt, just less. He hoped he'd be able to speak soon, because he didn't want to keep writing everything down whenever he wanted to say or ask something.
Hongjoong was in the kitchen meanwhile, cooking dinner. It was quite basic, just some rice with salmon, but it was good enough. He wasn't the best cook, he often ordered takeout, but he couldn't do that now that Seonghwa was staying in his apartment.
As dinner was ready, he placed the plates with food on the table and went to call the other. But as he entered the living room, he noticed Seonghwa looking out the window and seemed pretty restless and tense. Unlike before.
The brown haired man looked out the window, trying to see if the other might have seen something strange. But no, nothing unusual. It was just getting dark outside and the lights of the city could be seen. The apartment was on the top floor, so there was quite the good and beautiful sight over the city.
It did make Hongjoong confused as to why Seonghwa seemed so tense and restless all of a sudden.
"You okay?"
The sudden question startled the white haired man, he quickly looked over. His expression showed a bit of fear. No response followed the question. That in combination with the expression only further confused Hongjoong.
"Hey, what's wrong? Did you see something?"
Shake of the head.
"Can I approach you?"
Hongjoong decided to ask the question as he was unsure what Seonghwa was exactly scared of, so he wanted to make sure the other knew he didn't need to be scared of him.
Slow nod.
Seeing that, the brown haired man approached the white haired man and slowly sat down next to him on the couch.
"Can you tell me what you're scared of?"
Nod after a moment of hesitation.
Seonghwa grabbed the paper and pen, writing the answer down.
'This was the time when they would come...'
Hongjoong sighed, understanding where the sudden fear came from. Despite still not knowing the exact things those criminals did, he could unfortunately form an idea.
Yet, the reality had been much worse...
"Listen, those people won't come here. And even if they dared to, I won't let them lay even a finger on you. No matter how strong or dangerous they might be, I won't let them hurt you ever again. I promise you're safe here."
