"You have anything in place?"
"Yes sir" the woman on the phone responded.
"Good, don't hold back on this. Go wild. Just make sure your face isn't on any cameras."
"I've done this before, don't worry."
"Mhm.. Just be careful. Contact me when you're done."
"I will."
With that, the phone call ended. Hongjoong placed his phone beside him on the couch before running his fingers through his hair and sighing. It was the night after the session with the psychologist. Seonghwa had already gone to bed while the brown haired man was sitting on the couch, planning on staying awake until he would get the message from the woman that the task had gone well.
Before that could happen, he heard the same screams each night. However.. they seemed worse than the past few days, it was just as bad as the ones from the first night. It alarmed Hongjoong, he knew no one had gone inside as he had been awake this entire time and the door to the apartment was in view. And being on the top floor, he doubted anyone would enter through a window. So he knew it was a nightmare again, but it still alarmed him.
He rushed into the bedroom, leaving his phone on the couch in a hurry. He approached the bed, sitting down on the edge as he gently woke Seonghwa up.
The older's eyes shot open, his eyes were filled with tears, making his vision blurry. He couldn't see who was the person who had woken him up and was sitting on the edge, which made him scared and he moved away instantly.
"It's just me, no need to be scared."
Hongjoong spoke softly. He knew how this went, it was the same each night again. He wondered if the older even realized that and knew the younger was the only person in the apartment with him.
Hearing the familiar voice, Seonghwa took a deep breath to calm down. He moved closer again, feeling the other's arm pulling him into a comforting embrace.
"It's okay, Seonghwa... It was just a nightmare.."
The older wrapped his arms around the other, allowing himself to start crying. He knew he was safe with Hongjoong, he knew he could cry without any judgment and without getting hurt.
"Let it all out... I'm here for you.."
Hongjoong gently ran his fingers through the pure white hair, trying to comfort Seonghwa as best as he could. Before, he had always tried to get the older to stop crying, but he had seen during the session - when Yunho had encouraged Seonghwa to cry and let it all out - that just letting it all out had a better effect. So he decided to try it out, allowing and encouraging the older to just cry until it was all out.
That went on for a few minutes, the two just sat there, holding each other in an embrace while Seonghwa was crying. He eventually calmed down, his tears slowly stopping. Hongjoong gently wiped the tears away with his thumbs, cupping the older's cheeks while doing that.
"Feel better?"
"Yes.."
"Good.."
Hongjoong smiled softly before getting lost in Seonghwa's eyes, those beautiful dark brown eyes. They carried no spark in them, the younger guessed there once was a spark and it had been taken away in this past year.
Feeling the older move away, he snapped out of the trance and let go of the other's face.
"Sorry"
"It's okay.."
"Do you want me to stay here with you?"
Nod.
Hongjoong got into the bed with Seonghwa, under the covers. He opened his arms, offering to cuddle like they had done the past few nights. The older gladly accepted and got into the younger's arms, cuddling up to him.
