Jungkook couldn't shake the overwhelming guilt that gnawed at his heart, a relentless ache that seemed to grow with each passing moment. He had driven Jimin away when he needed him most, pushing him away in a moment of fear and confusion. And now, with Jimin carrying their baby, the weight of his actions was almost too much to bear. Jungkook had always dreamed of having children, of building a family with Jimin, and the thought of his husband and their unborn baby being out there somewhere, lost and alone, was more than he could handle.
Mr. Jeon, too, was struggling to come to terms with the news of Jimin's pregnancy, delivered by Yoongi and Hoseok with somber faces. The revelation hit him like a tidal wave, leaving him gasping for breath. He had always prided himself on being a pillar of strength, but now he found himself on his knees, praying for the safety of Jimin and the baby. The house felt emptier than ever, the silence a constant reminder of the dire situation they were in.
In those quiet, desperate moments, Jungkook and Mr. Jeon were united in their sorrow and regret. They could do nothing but hope, their hearts heavy with the weight of their mistakes and the longing for Jimin's return. The world seemed to stand still, each second stretching into an eternity as they waited, prayed, and dreamed of the day when they could make things right.
Mr. Jeon spoke to Jungkook and Taehyung, his voice heavy with determination. "As Yoongi said, they met Jimin in Gwangju. We've been searching for him in Seoul and Busan all this time. I think we should focus on Gwangju instead. I'll call Gong Yoo; he'll do whatever he can from his end. I'm going to Gwangju tomorrow."
Jungkook immediately responded, "Appa, I will go. I created this mess. I put my Minie in misery. I have to find him."
Mr. Jeon's face hardened. "I'm very sorry, Jungkook, but I'm in no position to trust you right now. I entrusted my Jiminie to you, thinking you would cherish him. But look at where we are now. Both he and the baby... I hope they are fine, but with Jimin's medical conditions, I'm deeply worried."
Jungkook looked at his father, confused and scared. "Appa, what do you mean?"
Mr. Jeon stared at him incredulously. "Jungkook, don't tell me you don't know about Jimin's medical condition!"
"Appa... I... I..." Jungkook stammered.
"What, Jungkook?" Mr. Jeon's serious look pierced through him.
"Appa, what do you mean? I don't understand."
Mr. Jeon was on the verge of losing his patience. "Didn't you take Jiminie for checkups? Didn't the doctor tell you about his condition? Should I explain everything to you?"
Jungkook suddenly remembered a conversation about Jimin's checkups that he had dismissed. "Appa... actually..."
"Stop it, Jungkook! Tell me this: did you take him for checkups?" Mr. Jeon's voice was rising with anger.
"Appa..."
"Answer the damn question, Jungkook!" Mr. Jeon's shout startled Taehyung, who had been quietly listening.
"No..." Jungkook mumbled, his voice barely audible.
"What in the world are you telling me, Jeon Jungkook? I clearly instructed you to take Jimin for monthly checkups!" Mr. Jeon's scream echoed through the room, leaving a tense silence in its wake.
"Appa..." Jungkook approached his father, his voice trembling. "Appa, I know I did something wrong... something really wrong..."
Mr. Jeon snapped, his voice cutting through the air like a knife. "Wrong? You have no idea what you've done! Jimin was suffering from severe post-concussion syndrome, for God's sake! That's why he needed frequent medical checkups. I should have known... I should have known that you would never take him to the checkups. I should have taken him myself. I shouldn't have believed him when he said he visited the doctor, covering for you with lies. Why, Jungkook, why? Why did you make that innocent boy's life so miserable?"
