Mr. Jeon, his face red with fury, barked at Jungkook, "Who told you all these lies, Jungkook?" His voice thundered through the room, each word dripping with anger and betrayal. "Who the hell filled your head with these stupid things? And how could you confront Jimin without knowing the actual truth?" This was the first time Jungkook had seen his father this enraged, and it shook him to his core.
"Uncle, please don't shout. It's not good for your health," Taehyung interjected, trying to calm the situation. But Mr. Jeon shot him a glare that could freeze fire.
"What the hell did you do to my innocent boy, Jungkook? Did you really do that?" Mr. Jeon's voice cracked as he collapsed onto the sofa, his hands pulling at his hair in frustration.
"Appa..." Jungkook began, his voice trembling.
"No, don't call me that until you bring back my Jiminie."
"Appa, stop behaving like this. Are you telling me to stay as the husband of the person whose father killed my eomma?" Jungkook's voice rose, his own anger and confusion bubbling over.
"Who fed that lie to you, Jungkook?" Mr. Jeon's eyes were wide with disbelief and sorrow.
"I met Uncle Kang Min Soo, who you never told me existed." Mr. Jeon's face fell, his eyes widening in shock.
"Kang Min Soo?" he repeated, his voice barely a whisper.
"Yes, Kang Min Soo, eomma's brother whom I never knew about. Appa, why? Why did you hide him from me? Why did you lie about eomma's death and pretend it was heart failure? Why? And why did you make me marry Park Jae Hyung's son? Why did you marry me to a murderer's son? Why, Appa, why?" Jungkook's voice broke, tears streaming down his face.
"Stop it, Jungkook, stop it. Stop calling Jae Hyung a murderer! He was never a murderer. He was just as innocent and caring as Jimin. Stop calling him that!" Mr. Jeon's voice was thick with grief and desperation, the pain evident in every word.
Jungkook was taken aback, his anger momentarily subsiding as he saw the depth of his father's pain. The room fell into a heavy silence, the tension so thick it was almost suffocating. Jungkook's mind raced, trying to reconcile the conflicting emotions and information.
Jungkook's mind raced back to that fateful day, the day everything fell apart. He could still hear Jimin's voice, soft yet desperate, echoing in his ears, "Find the truth before accusing my appa. He isn't what you think he is. He was innocent." The memory was a haunting specter, one that seemed to stop time itself. He turned to face his father, Mr. Jeon, his eyes pleading for understanding.
"Appa... this is all a mess. Can you please tell me what happened?"
Mr. Jeon's face turned red with fury, his eyes blazing with an intensity Jungkook had never seen before. "After taking all the stupidest decisions, now you're asking me? Shame on you, Jungkook. I never wanted to raise you like this."
Jungkook felt a crushing weight on his chest, his father's harsh words cutting deep. He stood there, speechless, the guilt and regret almost too much to bear. "Appa, please..." he managed to whisper, his voice breaking.
Mr. Jeon took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His face was a storm of emotions—anger, sorrow, and disappointment all mingling together. He looked at Jungkook with eyes that held years of hidden pain. "Fine," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. "Let me tell you the story."
The room fell silent, the air thick with anticipation. Taehyung stood nearby, watching the exchange with a mixture of concern and curiosity. Mr. Jeon's expression softened slightly as he prepared to reveal the truth that had been buried for so long.
