Life plays funny games with us, but the games it played with Jimin were never funny. From losing his family to ending up running for his dear life in an unknown city were never amusing.
"Eomma, Appa, Halmoni... please help me. Please... I don't want to be destroyed. They will kill me. Help me. Please save me," Jimin prayed desperately for the gods to intervene and save his life.
He wanted to hide from those monsters who pursued him as he left for home after finishing his shift at the coffee shop where he started working two months ago.
Jimin heard the menacing shouts of the people chasing him, and it filled him with dread. Without hesitation, he bolted, the sound of their voices echoing in his ears, pushing him to run faster. Being a young and attractive boy, he was accustomed to the unwanted attention, no matter how much he tried to conceal his appearance. Beauty, for Jimin, was both a blessing and a curse.
"Stop there, you motherfucker! Do you think you can easily slip away like that? Stop!" the shouts behind him grew louder, fueling his fear.
Jimin sprinted, desperation lending wings to his feet. As he attempted to cross the road, a fast-moving car appeared, its blinding lights and blaring horn signaling imminent danger.
"This is the end," Jimin thought as he braced himself for the impact, his mind flooded with thoughts of his family.
Despite the excruciating pain coursing through his body, Jimin longed to reach his family. As he lay in a pool of his own blood, his vision blurred, and he imagined seeing his loved ones awaiting him with tear-filled eyes, beckoning him to join them in peace.

"Doctor, how is he? Will he survive the accident?" Mr. Jeon's voice trembled with anxiety as he awaited news of Jimin's condition."We're doing everything we can, but the boy's condition is critical. The extent of his injuries and blood loss is severe," the doctor's grave tone conveyed the seriousness of the situation.
Desperate to save Jimin, Mr. Jeon spared no expense, determined to transfer him to a better-equipped hospital in Seoul, regardless of the obstacles.

Seven days elapsed, yet Mr. Jeon received no positive news from the doctors. Jimin was transferred to one of the finest hospitals in Korea, where he was attended to by top-tier medical professionals. Meanwhile, Mr. Jeon tirelessly searched for any trace of Jimin's family or relatives, but his efforts proved futile. Despite locating Jimin's name and address from the ID card in his wallet, a visit to the specified location revealed nothing but an abandoned house. From Jimin's neighbors, Mr. Jeon learned the heartbreaking truth: Jimin had no one in the world. The realization weighed heavily on Mr. Jeon as he watched the pale figure in the ICU, fighting bravely for his life. His heart ached seeing the young man's resilience, his determination to cling to life against all odds. Day and night, Mr. Jeon fervently prayed for a miracle, pleading with the gods to protect Jimin from the darkness threatening to engulf him.
Lost in his thoughts, Mr. Jeon's phone suddenly rang, jolting him back to the present moment.
"Appa, where in the hell were you? Are you too busy to answer the damn phone for a while?" Jungkook's voice crackled with frustration.
"Language, son!" Mr. Jeon's reprimand was stern but tinged with relief at hearing his son's voice.
"I was dying here to know what exactly happened to you, and you're worried about my language. That's not funny, Mr. Jeon!" Jungkook's concern was palpable beneath his irritation.
"Jungkook!!!" Mr. Jeon's tone shifted to one of exasperation.
"Yeah, I am Jeon Jungkook! Your one and only son. Can you remember me?" Jungkook's attempt at humor fell flat in the face of the seriousness of the situation.
"Jungkook, this is not the time for your silly jokes!" Mr. Jeon's patience was wearing thin.
"Jokes! You think I'm joking? I was worried sick! Where were you? Why didn't you pick up the phone? If you hadn't picked up now, I would have flown to Korea on the next plane. Tell me what happened? Are you alright, Appa?" Jungkook's rapid-fire questions betrayed his deep concern.
"Yeah, I'm alright, son," Mr. Jeon's response was heavy with the weight of guilt and regret.
Jungkook sensed his father's distress. "Appa, don't try to act like nothing is wrong. I know something is really wrong there. Tell me what it is."
Mr. Jeon let out a defeated sigh, knowing he couldn't hide the truth from his son any longer. "A huge mistake, Kookah."
"What??? Did you marry somebody without telling me? Wait, I'm coming back. I will slap and throw that bitch away!" Jungkook's anger flared, fueled by concern for his father.
"Jungkook! Are you really crazy? I am dying here out of guilt, and you are talking about women! Do you think that lowly of your father?" Mr. Jeon's voice cracked with emotion.
"Guilt? For what? Appa, tell me without scaring me. What happened?" Jungkook's tone softened, his worry evident.
"I was going to see the construction of our new hotel at Busan..." Mr. Jeon's voice trailed off as he recounted the events that led to Jimin's plight.
"So, will the boy wake up?" Jungkook's question cut through the somber atmosphere, his concern for Jimin evident.
"That is what I am dying to see. I want him to wake up so that I can hand him over," Mr. Jeon's words were heavy with remorse.
"To whom? You said his family is dead. To whom are you going to hand him over? This is more serious than we think. Just give him a good amount of money and make him shut his mouth. Otherwise, he will try to blackmail you, taking advantage of the accident. Low-lives like them never hesitate to do what is advantageous for them. So be careful," Jungkook's pragmatic advice underscored the gravity of the situation.
"Jungkook! Since when have you started thinking like this? Are you really my son?" Mr. Jeon's disbelief was tinged with a hint of pride.
"If eomma was here with us, we would have asked. But still, I think I am your son," Jungkook's attempt at levity belied his concern.
"Jungkook!!!" Mr. Jeon's frustration reached its peak as he realized the seriousness of their predicament.
"Yeah, Mr. Jeon. Good luck with your new trouble. I have to go now. Jia is waiting for me," Jungkook's abrupt departure left Mr. Jeon reeling.
"Jia, who? Hello... Hello... Jungkook??? JEON JUNGKOOK!!!" Mr. Jeon's frantic calls fell on deaf ears as Jungkook disconnected the call, leaving him to grapple with their uncertain future alone.
