What happened? That same question spiraled through my head over and over as I sat on the couch in the lounge, mourning the loss of a wonderful soul with everybody else. Erica bee-lined over as soon as I called; even Adelaide and Edie showed up. What hurt the most, was the fact that my boyfriend snuffed out the life of one of my best friends. Or...so it was supposed to look.

"How could Ethan do this?" Franklin asked suddenly, "He liked Sami, she was a gentle soul, she never had a harsh word to say to him. Why would he do this to her?"

"Are we even really sure that Ethan murdered Sami? I mean, he's Ethan," Adelaide said.

"We'll I think the fact that he awoke with her dead body next to him says something," Harry said.

"Was he drunk? It may've been an accident if he was drunk," Edie said.

"He didn't have that much to drink last night though," Lawrence replied. Vincent shot up from his seat and paced in front of the fireplace.

"Vincent?" I asked.

"If the city doesn't murder him, I will," he growled.

"Come on mate, you're not in the right state of mind right now," Franklin told him.

"He killed my girlfriend! What state of mind should I be in right now?" he asked.

"Okay, we all need to calm down. There has to be a rational explanation for all this," Erica said.

"Will we have to be questioned by police?" Edie asked.

"It's possible, they'll want to know every detail about the bastard," Vincent replied. Harry's phone suddenly began to ring.

"Harry Burton," it didn't come as much of a surprise to me that he answered his phone with his name. "Yes sir...I'll let them know...thank you," then he hung up.

"Who was that?" Erica asked.

"Headmaster, Sami's parents are on their way from Dublin," he replied.

"I can't imagine how upset they'll be," I said.

"Do you think there will be a funeral?" Adelaide asked.

"If there is, it may only be open to family," Vincent replied.

"Well, we were like her family...right?" Edie asked. Nobody answered, nobody could even bare sending her a flat glare. We were too upset.

Our silence was suddenly interrupted by another cell phone; mine. "Hello? Yeah that's me," Everybody turned to me, wondering who was on the other end. "Now? Yes, I understand...I'll be right there," I hung up and threw my phone to the side.

"You have the bollocks to take a phone call at a time like this?" Harry asked me. I shot him a dirty look.

"You had the balls to answer a call too," I told him.

"I had to answer, it was the headmaster," he replied.

"Well I was just on the phone with a detective you asshole! He wants me to come down and talk about Ethan," I said as I stood up.

"Could we not fight please?" Erica asked.

"Fine," Harry mumbled. I pulled on my jacket and headed for the door.

"I'll see you guys later. I'll text you if anything happens,"

"I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances Ms. Evereux," the lead detective, Inspector Collins, led me through the precinct and into a separate room. I felt like I was being interrogated in one of those high-class murder dramas on TV.
