I didn't know what the hell was going on with me: my head was fuzzed and I couldn't think straight, and I always found myself fumbling when he came up. It was like a circuit shorted out in my brain and I turned into this crush-sick loon!

-

"Just saying...after a while you'll fall in love with me. All the ladies do, no matter how hard they fight it." he replied.

"Well I assure you that I will never be one of those ladies."

-

I couldn't believe he was actually right! I, Lucy Darla Evereux, the most stubborn person in my family and never fell in love with jackasses, was becoming soft on Ethan Patterson! What the fuck was wrong with me? And you know that this was troubling me because I just swore in my voice narration!

Maybe I should get my head examined?

The last thing I needed was everybody finding out how I felt about him. Ethan's ego would become the size of the milky way galaxy if he found out he had this affect on me.

I didn't know what I was going to do! Besides my crush on Jackass Patterson I still had to deal with Ryan's money problem! Holy cow, I was in trouble.

And since bad things comes in threes...

It happened during my communications class, I was working on my marketing presentation when Ms. Charles, the Dean's assistant, came in and asked for me. That made me nervous, why would the Dean want to see me? I'm no trouble maker, I'm just a kid trying to get out of the shit-hole people call my life.

Dean Culton was a tall man with a lanky build and salty grey hair. He wore an almond brown suit and a red and black striped tie, and round lens glasses like Harry Potter. I had never even talked to him, he was always cooped up in his office.

"I'm sorry to bring you in under these circumstances Ms. Evereux, but unfortunately we received a bank note from our account, and a cut has been made from your scholarship," he said. That was like a punch to the stomach. What he was basically saying was that somebody took money from my scholarship.

"Well...do you know why?" I asked him, my heart beating in my chest a thousand miles a minute. I haven't even been at this school six months and already it was all falling apart!

"No, unfortunately. But, since this cut was made, this leaves your scholarship in peril. It will be cancelled if the money is not replaced," he replied.

"Wow, um...how-how much do I owe?" I asked. Please don't let it be a lot, please don't let it be a lot-

"765 pounds," 765? I thought. Okay, every US dollar was 60 cents per British pound. 765 British pounds converted to US dollars equaled...oh no.

"Oh my God. Alright well, um...how long do I have to collect the tuition money?" I asked.

"Three weeks." Three weeks? Why didn't he just put a sign on my back that said 'Brother made me broke, take pity on me'! Good Lord, please save me.

"Alright, thank you sir. I'll get the money and I'll fix this," I said.

"Remember Ms. Evereux, you have three weeks to collect the money or your record here at Hollingwood will be expunged," he warned me.

"Thank you sir," was all I said before I stood up from my seat and left the office. I was seriously going to kill Ryan.

-

"I'm sorry Lucy, but I didn't have a choice!" he replied. Excuses, excuses.

"You cut money from my tuition! You committed a crime! You could go to jail for that!" I snapped through the phone.
