The way it was looking, the Saints were winning. Nassiah didn't like that- he couldn't have that. It had been two days and nothing. He was sitting outside of his house smoking a blunt- it was 5 am. He couldn't sleep, Alonso's trial was coming up. Tomorrow to be exact. He needed his husband home, he needs it so bad. The nightmares, the anxiety then to shove it down and still be a good dad on top of it. It wasn't as easy as Alonso made it seem- he needed his other half.  They were doing everything they could- checking every corner every car. But it wasn't enough, Not to mention he knew Alonso was hurting. His sister dead. Alonso had to be the one to tell his niece. Then having to tell her she can't come down until it's safe- so she was alone going through the death of her mother. How could this be the reality.  When his phone went off he just looked down at the caller Id and sighed softly. He took another hit of the blunt the answered it.

  "Why aren't you sleeping?"

"The same reason you aren't" Alonso's voice came through the call and he sounded exhausted.

"Don't worry Chocolate, I'm gonna take care of them"

"I want you to wait until I get back- I don't - I can't . Just Nassiah please" he pleaded and Nassiah continued to smoke the blunt.

"Alonso- if I get the chance, I'm taking it"

"Nassiah - for once can you listen to me"

"How can I?

"Because Amor is dead! Someone who had nothing to do with any of this shi-

"That's why I have to take my chance! If they killed her you think the kids are safe? Dj already got shot in broad daylight Alonso. I gotta make sure mine are safe" Nassiah informed, he felt his hand start shaking again and exhaled slowly. He ashed the blunt then looked down at the phone wiping his own face.

"Do what you got to do- but you better be there when I come home"

  "I promise I will"

Kings body jolted up and a scream left his mouth. Warm tears from his face as he looked around his room trying to bring himself back to what was going on. Dj grunted a bit next to the boy from his wound, he was hanging on- nothing major  got hit, but a lot of pain. He didn't want anything more than over the counter pills and barely that- he had an addiction and he knew more than ever he was liable to relapse. Dj pushed his body up then pulled King into his arms rocking them both slowly.

"S-sorry. S-sorry"  King stuttered out.  "I-I'm s-sorry, are you okay? Hows your pain?" King started. Dj only kissed the man's head and rubbed his back. Kings big brown eyes looked up at Dj who after a few minutes looked down.

"What was the dream about King?"

"Nothing it was dumb" he mumbled as he rubbed his face. "I just - I don't want anyone else to get hurt.. it's all I think about" he spoke barely above a whisper. He felt Dj's head to see if he had a fever then looked around to offer him some water.

"I'm fine- I don't need nothing King" Dj stated as he did this almost every time he woke up, Everytime he saw him- he was falling apart slowly. That's why Dj needed to get back out there- he needed this to be over for multiple reasons. "It's not dumb- you should've stayed in New York huh? I should've never came and took you home" Dj felt guilty these days but who didn't. "Can you try and go back to sleep?" He asked and King just shrugged. Dj laid them back slowly and let King rest on his side that wasn't hurt.

"Are you sure you don't want any other kind of medicine or anything?"

"Nah I'm good- it's temping though" King watched Dj's whole procedures- or what every bootleg one they gave him on the counter. He didn't take his eyes off the boy as he stood in the corner tears down his face. He stayed out of the way and quiet. What else could he do? Dj tried to reassure him but that fell deaf on his ears.  "Why don't we try and go back to sleep?"  Dj offered and King just nodded slowly still not knowing if he was going to be able to sleep.
