Dark Past

  We walked hand-in-hand to lunch all the way down the absolutely freezing hallway. I pulled my way too big sweater sleeves down to cover my hands. Danny tilted my head up, "Emmy, what's wrong?" She asked, looking down at me. I looked away from her and didn't say anything. "Emmy seriously, what's wrong?" She stopped me. "Just tired." I answered so she'd stop asking.

   I laid my head down on the cool table and Danny poked my arm, handing me a couple chocolate kisses and a bag of skittles. I shoved them away and handed them back. "Not hungry." I mumbled and she placed her hand on my cheek "u have a fever" She looked at me. "Do you wanna go call your mom?" I shook my head. "I'll power through." She gave me a kiss on the cheek and then it was time to go back to class.

    I spent the rest of the day with my head down and sorta asleep, the teachers didn't mind though, they knew I didn't feel good. After the day slowly dragged on, I was forced to go to gym, and dress out. I changed slowly in the locker room and I walked out onto the field with my class. "Ladies, today you're running the mile." I took one look at Danny and I looked at the teacher. "Do your best." I heard Danny whisper to me. When she said "Go!" and we started running, instead of being in front with Danny, I was at the very back. About halfway on the track is a bench. I walked over to the bench and sat down, putting my head between my knees, I was so dizzy, I just wanted to go home. The teacher quickly noticed and ran over to me, but, Danny got there way before she did. She was sitting there beside me, tying my hair back with a tie. "Will you help her to the nurse?" She asked. "Of course." She put my arm over her shoulders and helped me to the nurse, unfortunately, I didn't make it there. I ended up fainting in the hallway. I heard Danny yell my name and then I felt arms carrying me, where I didn't know.

     When I could finally hear and see things clearly again, I was in the emergency room with my mom, Danny's dad, and Danny by my side. "Are you feeling okay sweetheart?" My mom looked down at me. I nodded and rubbed my head, I felt a bump, I knew I must've hit it on something when I passed out. "Did you eat anything today?" I shrugged. "I don't remember.." She kissed my head. "I'm gonna go get some dinner okay?" "I'll come with you." Danny's dad added. She smiled a little, "Well, okay." "Danny do you wanna stay here or come with us?" He asked. "I'll stay." She kept her eyes on me and then the door shut. "I got to undress you." She smirked as I looked down at the gown I was wearing. "Oh really now?" I smirked back. "Babe are you okay? Seriously you didn't look so good.." "I'm fine." I reassured her. She leaned down and pressed a light kiss to my lips. "You scared me..actually, I think the whole school knows you scared me. I screamed your name like..so loud.." I laughed a little. "You're so cute." I poked one of her cheeks.
