First Chapter of Future Stories: Part

L35L13 and Echo: TFP

So for those of you who don't know. There were thirteen original Primes and only one was a femme or a female. So it was decided by Primus that after every twelve mechs (males) there will be one femme. Which is why we hardly see any female Cybertronians. But does this apply to drones like vehicons and eradicons? I'd like to think so. So this is a story about a femme vehicon designated L35L13 or Leslie and her sparkling Echo. Their life was semi-peaceful on the Nemesis until Megatron returned after being away for three Earth years.

L35L13's POV

I am feeding my little sparkling Echo his low grade energon. He is only a stellar cycle (a year) old. Things have been peaceful for us and his sire Soundwave. I guess you're all wondering how a simple vehicon like me got the attention of the Decepticon third in command. The eyes and ears of the decepticons.

Well I was his assistant back on Cybertron. Still am, actually. You see femme vehicons like me and even femme eradicons. Weren't used for battle. Mainly used as assistants or entertainment. Not battle. Not that I can't fight, I trained myself.

Soundwave found me training one day and started to teach me himself. We started spending more time together and grew attached. No one knew, until I discovered I was sparked after Megatron had left three stellar cycles ago. Starscream was not happy about having a sparkling around. But Echo is a very well behaved sparkling and I tend to keep him away from Starscream as much as possible.

Soundwave adores little Echo and always looks after him on his breaks. He sends Laserbeak to check on us. Echo loves Laserbeak and vise versa. I can just picture them racing each through the halls of the Nemesis once Echo learns to fly. Soundwave never speaks with his original voice, except when he is alone with Echo. I've heard him.

I fear the day Megatron will return. I fear what he'll think of his third in command and communications officer bonding with a vehicon. I fear what he'll do to Echo. To Soundwave, Laserbeak and me. Starscream may tolerate us, but I know he is secretly scared of Soundwave as Soundwave could beat him in a fight any day. But Megatron does not fear anyone or anything.

Even though I have a sparkling, I still complete my work work quota every day. Even more most days. As I don't want to appear that I can't do be relied on just because I have a sparkling. That Echo doesn't stop me from being good at my job. Soundwave also continues his duties like nothing is different.

Anyway, Echo is soon napping so I leave him in my berth room. Which is right beside Soundwave's. Laserbeak is watching him while I go to the bridge to get back to work. When I arrive I see someone trying to hail us from deep space. I send the details to Soundwave.

Before continuing to catalogue data on the latest autobot encounter. Starscream had killed an autobot called Cliffjumper. He'd stumbled onto one of our newer mine sites and engaged the guards there. He lost and was captured. He was brought before Starscream, who killed him.

"Those transmissions are emanating from deep space" Starscream states as Soundwave shows him the transmission I had picked up. "I would hate to waste the energon. Unless you and L35L13 are absolutely certain" he says.

"We are certain Commander" I assure him and Soundwave nods his helm in agreement.

"Then lock on transmission coordinates. And activate the space bridge" Starscream orders Soundwave. Who does so.

"Decepticons! I have returned" an all to familiar voice says over the comm system. I freeze, Megatron is back. I look at Soundwave scared and he nods his helm at me. I leave the bridge, happy I have finished cataloguing for the day. I relieve Laserbeak of sparkling sitting and he leaves to return to Soundwave. I pick up my sleeping sparkling and sit on my berth rocking him gently. Praying that we'll all be ok.

(Bridge) Third Persons POV

Megatron arrived at the Nemesis and headed straight the bridge. "Welcome back, Lord Megatron" all the drones say bowing to him. As he approaches Starscream and Soundwave.

"Welcome back Master, we're on our way to collect more energon from our most significant mine" Starscream tells him.

"Excellent, Soundwave report" Megatron says.

"Autobots on Earth, Starscream terminated one" Soundwave says using several voices. "May we speak in private, Lord Megatron?" he asks. Megatron looks at him confused, but nods his helm and they leave the bridge. Leaving Starscream in charge.

"What is it Soundwave?" Megatron asks. "You seem quieter then usual" he states.

"There has been a development" Soundwave states in Knockout's voice.

'Soundwave, please do not tell him' L35L13 begs through their bond. Soundwave frowns under his visor. He believes it is best to tell Megatron straight away about his spark mate and their sparkling. But maybe he should take it slow. Soundwave sends her reassurance through their bond and feels her relax.

"Soundwave" Megatron says and he looks at him. "What development?" he demands.

"I have bonded" Soundwave states and Megatron looks at him surprised. He never thought his third in command would fall for anyone. Let alone bond one someone.

"Who is it?" he asks.

"L35L13" Soundwave answers.

"A vehicon?" Megatron says surprised and Soundwave nods. Showing Megatron a picture of her. "Ah your assistant" he states remembering her. "Well as long this does not affect yours or her work ethic. Then I will allow it" he tells him. Soundwave bows his head in gratitude. "Where is she now?" he asks.

"Recharging, was up late last night and has already done her work for the day" Soundwave responds. Megatron nods his head and they return to the bridge. To see they have arrived at the mine. Megatron and Starscream go down into the mine leaving Soundwave in charge of the bridge.
