Hope's POV
No school for me today because I'm getting the results from the test taken two weeks ago. I'm pretty nervous. What if the baby isn't Lucas's? Shawn comes into my room and tells me to get dressed. With a lot of anxiety, I put on my clothes, eat breakfast, and we drive off after an hour or so. Lucas isn't allowed to come, which I'm both relieved and upset about. It would have been nice to have his support, but if the child isn't his, it would be so awkward having him there.
We've arrived at the hospital. We get out and stand still in front of the entrance. Shawn and I look at each other, and he takes my hand. We walk in together, and now I'm really nervous. We reach the reception, and a nurse directs us to a consultation room. Shawn and I sit waiting for the doctor with the results. I rest my head on Shawn's shoulder, and he strokes my hair. It's awkward, but it feels good. Not long after, the doctor comes in with the results. He tells me that the baby is Lucas's. I'm relieved and scared at the same time. My decision just got even harder. The doctor asks if I've decided on an abortion yet. I tell him I still don't know.
On the way home, I call Lucas. I tell him the news that the baby is ours. Lucas is very happy and promises to come over after school with his parents. A few hours later, the doorbell rings. Shawn goes to the door and tells me to sit on the couch. Lucas and his parents come in. Lucas sits next to me and gives me a kiss. His parents congratulate me. We talk for a long time about what I should do now. Abortion or not.
Shawn's POV
I send Hope and Lucas upstairs so I can talk to Lucas's parents. They think she should have an abortion, but I believe she should do what feels right to her. Lucas's mom says she's willing to help care for the child if they decide to keep it, but they also ask how I plan to help with the child. They have a point. With my current career, I can't always be there for Hope and Lucas. Especially now, with my three new songs released and upcoming concerts.
