I yawned while in the shower. The hot water felt amazing on my skin.
"Morning," a voice rang behind me.
"Katsu, I told you—" He cut me off by wrapping his arms around my bare waist.
"Not to come in the shower with you in the morning, blah blah blah, you don't want to take another shower, I get it," he mocked, making me huff.
He chuckled and pecked my cheek by bending down to my height.
"Whatever." I turned around in his arms and looked up at him. "How was your sleep?" I asked while soaping his chest.
"It was fine," he sighed.
"I know you had another nightmare. You held me too tightly, so I woke up. You had tears on your face," I whispered sadly.
"Sorry, my love," he whispered back.
"I know you miss him... I miss him too. And no, it was not your fault, Katsuki. You were at home and vulnerable. You had no idea. Please stop beating yourself up for this," I begged, looking into his pained eyes.
".....I'm going to go get ready for work," he muttered, pecked my lips, and walked out, grabbing a towel from the hook.
I sighed and finished my shower.
I changed into a simple hoodie and jeans and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. While I was cooking, I heard the front door open and shut.
"Morning, Ma," Akiko chirped, kissing my cheek and making me smile at my beautiful girl.
"Morning, love. Go take your shower and get ready for school. Your breakfast will be ready soon," I told her gently as always.
"Alrighty," she said, skipping off toward her room.
We never told Akiko what happened 17 years ago. We never told her that her twin brother is missing. She doesn't even know she has a twin. It breaks my heart every day not knowing how my son is doing...
"I can't stay for breakfast. Damn villains always causing chaos," Katsuki said, coming downstairs and zipping up his hero suit.
"OK, I'll bring your lunch to the building, alright? Take care. I love you," I said as he bent down, lifted me with my legs around his waist, and kissed me deeply.
"Sorry about this morning, Blue," he whispered and pecked my lips once again.
"It's ok," I smiled and patted his chest to put me down.
"Koko! I'm off! I'll see you at your game at 3!" he called up the stairs.
"Ok!" she called back.
Katsuki left, winking at me, leaving me alone with my thoughts... just for a bit though, because...
"Ma! Ok, so I just learned a new trick in volleyball! Did you know..." Akiko's voice filled the room as she came bouncing back, her enthusiasm infectious. My little talker. Talks so much I am never alone with my thoughts.
"Really? Tell me all about it," I encouraged her, watching her eyes light up as she animatedly described the new move she learned.
Akiko continued her excited chatter, filling me in on every detail. "And then, when you spike the ball just right, it's like, whoosh! Over the net and no one can touch it!"
I chuckled, loving her enthusiasm. "That sounds amazing, sweetheart. I can't wait to see you in action."
I fed her breakfast while she kept talking about everything new she learned. "And you know what else, Ma? The coach said I might be captain next season if I keep this up!"
