"This is nice," I sighed, feeling the wind whip through my hair as we sat on the edge of our favourite rooftop.

"Yeah? You want me to shove your ass off the building and see if you still think this is nice?" Inferno replied with a smirk.

"Ugh, jerk," I muttered, pushing his leg off mine.

"What the hell!?" he growled, and I shoved his face away, laughing.

Inferno and I had been meeting every night for the past few weeks. We talked, argued, laughed, and joked around. Despite his serious demeanour, he had a playful side, often threatening to push me off the building or dropping me mid-air to freak me out.

"Yeah, so Keijo and I are going to hang out tomorrow," I mentioned casually.

"Ugh, why?" he groaned.

"Because he's sweet."

"Well, he looks fucking ugly."

"When did you ever see him?"

"I've seen him around," he grumbled.

We argued back and forth, the banter feeling almost sibling-like. When I first told him about Keijo, he had strongly advised against it, echoing Papa's concerns about dating. Despite his tough exterior, I appreciated his protective nature. It was nice having someone who cared, almost like the brother I never had.

The Next Day:

"Mhm...mhm...hu-hu~" I hummed while walking home from school. As I passed a store, a wanted poster caught my eye.

It featured villains.

I stopped in my tracks, staring at one particular face. Inferno. My heart sank. He's a villain? I had suspected he wasn't a hero, but seeing it in black and white made it real. Why was he saving me, then?

The ground shook, pulling me from my thoughts. I looked up to see villains causing chaos in the street.

"Is... is Inferno here?" I muttered, scanning the area.

Panicked, I turned to run but bumped into a hard chest. Looking up, I saw Dabi, one of the most notorious villains my Papa had been fighting for years.

"Um... I... sorry?" I stammered, backing away slowly.

He stared at me, and I felt a chill run down my spine. Suddenly, someone landed beside us.

"Dabi, stop!" It was Inferno.

"Kid?" Dabi muttered, confused.

"She's... um... she's innocent. Just leave her alone," Inferno whispered urgently.

"...We'll talk later. Get out of here, girl," Dabi said sternly, shoving past me.

Inferno grabbed my shoulder, pushing me to the side. "Go, now. Before the rest see you."

"You never told me you were a villain," I said, my voice trembling.

He froze, his grip on my shoulder loosening. "We'll talk later," he muttered before running off.

"Hello?" Keijo waved his hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, sorry," I mumbled, realizing I had zoned out.

We were at a café, just having coffee and chatting. Keijo was great, really, but today my mind was preoccupied with Inferno.
