"Avery you are going to the Brooks family household for a month," my mother told me as I was at the table eating mozzarella sticks. Totally my favorite snack. I could live off them.
"No. No way," I said raising my voice. "I will never go and stay there a week. Let alone a month!"
"Your father and I are going to Paris for our anniversary and you can't stay home alone. Not after what happened last time."
"Mom it wasn't my fault the macaroni caught on fire! I was busy watching television and I got carried away!"
"Avery Nicole, what about the party you had after the macaroni incident???"
"We should just forget about that," I mumbled.
"Yeah Dad was pretty confident when he said you're never allowed to be alone again. So you'll be living with the Brooks for a month and that's final. Go pack, you leave in an hour."
"No!," I was practically screaming at her now.
"The more time you waist screaming at me the less time you have to pack. Go. Now," she had her eyes bulging. She was one second away from taking away my precious phone. I kept my mouth shut and went to go pack.
I walked to my room and got out my large three suitcases and started neatly putting clothes in them. Well, clothes in one, phone chargers and my ipods and everything like that, and the last one makeup and lotions and stuff like that.
"Ready?!," my dad asked calling from the living room. I zipped all of my suitcases and slipped on my flip flops.
"Yeah!"
I rolled them all into the living room and had my parents carry them as we literally walked down one sidewalk and onto the porch of the Brooks family.
"Avery!," Mrs. Brooks said. "You look beautiful as always."
"Thanks Mrs. Brooks."
"Call me Rayne," she smiled helping me with all of my stuff. "You'll be staying across the hall from Jax. Of course you know him."
"Yeah."
"Jax!," Rayne called from my new room for the month. He came out with a smug look in just a towel. Clearly just got out of the shower.
"What?"
"Do you mind showing Avery around the house while I have a cup of coffee with her parents?"
I grimaced. Hopefully he would say no. But, he saw my horrid expression, so he gave his mom a grin and said, "of course Mom. Anything for our new guest."
"Actually Mrs. Brooks I could figure out this house on my own its alright," I said praying I wouldn't have to be alone with Jax.
"No no, Jax will show you around," she smiled and walked to the kitchen.
"As you know, I'm Jax," he smirked. "And you will be staying here so let's get some things right. Never. And I mean never go into my room after one o'clock in the morning. Not even if there was a fire. Second, don't embarrass me at school or even talk to me at school without me talking to you first. And third, you'll do whatever say whenever I say it. Okay?"
I rolled my eyes. "Or we can just never communicate. Okay? You have your life and I have mine."
He laughed. "No way."
"Yes way," I argued. "I'm not having a rich, player, brat telling me what to do. Your a jerk."
"Hey! I am not! Now let me show you around the house so I can head out."
