Days felt slow. Jax started working at the public pool as a lifeguard to give us some money. We had been using the money that my parents have been sending me for extra cash while they're still in Paris.
We had the first doctor's appointment, his dad was there literally taking notes in his chair. Jax held my hands the entire time, giving me some reassurance about my life.
I was craving mozzarella sticks, so I put some in the microwave and looked for something to drink. I found some apple juice and poured a small glass with a couple ice cubes. My mozzarella sticks were finally done, so I got them out of the microwave and took them and my apple juice to the living room.
I was only allowed to have like 2,800 calories per day or something. He wrote me out a long list, hopefully mozzarella sticks and apple juice were on it.
I put an old Disney movie into the dvd player. It was Ariel. I fell asleep when she found the fork. When I was a little kid, I always wanted to be Ariel. I was a mermaid with red hair every year for halloween until I was twelve. My parents didn't mind, I mean it was saving them money every year.
When I woke up, Jax was home cooking me dinner. I sat up and seen as he approached me with a plate. I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you," I said before slowing chewing what he had made.
I took one bite and held back the vomit about to burst out of me. It was good, my stomach just did not appreciate it. I sat my plate down and ran to the bathroom. He followed behind me and lifted my hair up as the fumes started to over take the bathroom aura. I started crying, not sure why I was the one having to deal with this kid inside of me when I wasn't even going to name it.
"Avery take a deep breath," he whispered into my ear. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against his chest. I didn't want to be in this circumstance, but I didn't want to be dead either.
"Here," he said handing me ibuprofen and a cup of water. I swallowed the pills and threw the disposable cup into the waste bin.
He carried me to his room and laid me on his bed. I closed my eyes and clenched my stomach. It felt like it was going to burst. It hurt so bad.
"Avery scoot over," he said softly laying right beside me and holding onto me and our child. I squeezed my eyes shut and took deep breaths. The ibuprofen started to settle in, and I could finally fall asleep.
Jax's Pov...
I loved her so damn much, it hurt me to not see her with a smile on her face. She made me a better person, but at the moment the only thing she was doing was making me feel so guilty. It's been about a month, she doesn't even look pregnant. Yeah, she's gained maybe five or ten pounds, but she wasn't even showing yet. I rubbed her stomach and kissed it. "Hey there little guy, this is your daddy out here. Mommy is sleeping, but when I say I love you, mommy loves you too. I know you won't be able to have a life with us once you are born... but we will always love you no matter what. Some mean people are going to take you away from us, but we'll get you back. I swear. We will not be able to be a family without you in it. Mommy thinks that I'll just convince her to have other children, but I want you to be the first baby that calls me daddy. Okay?"
I felt Avery shift from discomfort. I stroked her hair and kissed her head. She smiled and fell back asleep. I didn't know how we were going to get the baby from my step dad, but I knew we would accomplish getting her or him back.
Once Avery woke up, I sat her on my lap. We had to go to her brother's house today. Her parents stayed another day I guess. She told them she went to a spa retreat with her girl friends.
