The sleep overwhelmed me, I was exhausted. There was nothing that could keep me awake. I closed my eyes and fell asleep beside a still sleeping Jax.

*Kacey's Pov*

"Dude, Jax isn't picking up his phone. I think he's asleep, Avery won't answer either Michael."
"I know, I've been knocking on their house for ten minutes. His car is here, I think they're asleep."
"Well we have to get to the race before none of us show up."
"What are we going to do Kacey? He's going to get in so much trouble."
"Let's see if they don't notice I guess. As long as we win, maybe they won't go after them. If we don't win, they could get killed...but we have to try. Racing is a breeze Mike."
"Okay."
"The race is at Terminal."
"I know."

*Courtney's Pov*

Kacey thought I was asleep. He was sadly mistaken. After I heard his front door close, I sat up and called Leah.
"Yeah?" She asked tiredly.
"You have that brown wig from Halloween right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Put it on, and some shades. Meet me at Kacey's house."
I hung up and ran up to his room. I grabbed his old leather jacket, baggy pants, a black belt, a biker helmet I found in the back of his closet, and some of his black all-stars.
I put everything on and put my hair in a pony tail before I put the helmet on and covered my face with the face guard attached.
Leah knocked on his door. I ran downstairs and pulled her inside.
"Let's go to his garage," I said pulling her along. I always knew where it was, I just never went inside. I opened the door and saw the line of cars. I found the keys that went with the black challenger and opened the driver side door. Leah got in the passenger, I gave her a look and shook my head.
"Get in the Mustang. You'll be racing too."
"What?!"
"I'm Jax, you're Avery. I heard Kacey, that's why they always ditched us. To get ready for some race. I guess they are asleep or something and can't go to the race. We have to go or they could get into some serious trouble. Drive to the terminal."
"Okay?"
We drove to the terminal taking the side roads since it was passed curfew.
We got there and there was a large amount of people and cars. The terminal was a large abandoned highway. It wasn't safe, and there was a large parking place everyone partied at, in secret.
I rolled my window down as a guy approached my window.
"Name?" He asked suspiciously.
"Jax Brooks," I said in the best voice I could make of Jax.
"You feeling okay man?"
"Just a little sick," I said in the same voice before I coughed in my sleeve.
"Okay, you're in the first round go get in position. You got this," he smiled. He pointed to where we were supposed to start. I drove slowly trying to avoid all of the people. Leah pulled up next to me.
"I'm nervous," she said when I rolled down the window.
"Don't be, you got this," I smiled.
"First three places are done. You can forget about racing if you wish, for those under 3rd, good luck next time. You will be looping at the end of the highway and coming back here. Then we'll have the next group set up after everyone returns. Ready!....and Go!" He screamed and ran to the grass. All seven racers sped off. I was increasing speed faster and faster. There was a lever clearly built in that I pulled, the car drove faster than I thought possible. I was in first! I didn't know where Leah was, but I knew that she was okay. I used to drag race on trucks with my family when I was thirteen, so I knew the concept of racing. The turn was coming up, and as I went to turn, somebody pulled their lever too, which had more nitrous in it. They slammed into my car and flung me backwards. I collided with a piece of construction and the car was doing 360's after 360's. I closed my eyes and felt the pain leave. I felt at peace, like everything was in slow motion and it felt peaceful.

*Leah's Pov*

I saw the car flip and burst into flames. I screamed and took the turn and flew back to the finish line so I could try to find Michael and Kacey.
I got out of the car and found them by their cars talking to a couple of guys about the cars. They looked a little nervous, but chilled at the same time.
"Kacey, Michael," I screamed.
"Leah what the hell are you doing here?!" They asked in unison. They looked so scared.
"I'm Avery," I said in an obvious tone. "Courtney's car just blew up in the race and it burst into flames and she's all the way by the turn to come back and...and I think she might be dead," I cried.
Kacey stopped breathing I swore to God. He got in the car I used and took the path through the grass and drove as fast as he could.

*Kacey's Pov*

She wasn't dead, I kept telling myself. She was just passed out. I flung the car open and ran towards the car. The flames were turned into more of a smoke. I got into the car and pulled her out.
I felt her chest. It was fluttering the slightest.
"Courtney, baby," I whispered.
"Kacey," she cried weakily. Her eyes opened the slightest.
"Baby, you're gonna be okay. Just don't leave me," I said crying.
"I had to do it for Avery and Jax. I heard you on the phone with...Michael," she managed to say.
"Baby, we would have figured it out."
"They would have...done it...for us."
Her eyes closed and she released a small breath.
I screamed and started shaking. I was crying so hard. Tears kept falling from my cheeks to her's. She couldn't be dead. I loved her.
"Courtney!" I screamed. Her still body didn't do any moving. I picked her up and set her in the car. I was furious. I was going to kill someone.
I drove back to the start and finish line and parked the car. I picked her up and took her out of the car. Everyone's eyes were on me. Leah was crying into Michael's chest. I had tears slowly falling down my face.
"Is she dead?" The guy in charge asked. I nodded.
"Everyone leave! Its over! Money will be carried on to the next race! Get out! Kacey, take her to the hospital and say she was in a car crash. That's all the information you will give. If I hear any different you'll be in the coffin along side her.
I drove to the hospital and ran her inside. I was still crying.
"She was in a car accident, and she's not breathing!" I screamed. A nurse immediately took her from me and had nurses and doctors surround her as they wheeled her back.
I sat down on a chair and put my head in my hands. She is the love of my life. She can't be dead. Maybe the doctors can bring her back.
"Kacey!" Jax screamed.
I stood up and ran to him. I didn't know if I wanted to punch him or hug him.
"Dude, my cousin drugged us. I think he was involved with the race or something. I saw the pill tablets on my nightstand. I'm so sorry. I heard what Courtney and Leah did."
I hugged Jax and clenched my fist. I was crying and screaming. He held me tight and kept his eyes clenched shut.
"Family of Courtney?"
We walked over to the doctor. He put his arm on my shoulder and looked me in the eye.
"I'm sorry son. She lost a lot of blood, and her brain was damaged in the wreck. You can say your last goodbyes before she has to go."
I couldn't. It hurt too much.
Avery ran into the hospital, when she spotted me she ran to me and hugged me. She cried harder than I did. I held her tight and cried with her. Avery was like my little sister. I'm kind of glad she didn't go to the race tonight, I just wish Courtney's life being taken wasn't the outcome of Jax and Avery not going.
