"Get dressed we're going to a party," Jax said knocking on my door. I groaned and rolled over in my bed. It was eight o'clock at night.

"Hold on," I mumbled as I went to the door and opened it. Jax walked in instantly and went through my closet.

"No, no, ew gross," he said disgusted by my closet. "Ooh. This one!" He had a giant smile on his face as he picked out a black strapless dress that went down to my mid thigh and had a ribboned back. He then went through my shoe and got out my red heels.

"Jax I don't know...I don't wanna look...like I'm trying to hard. Why can't I wear like jeans and a v-cut or something?"

"Because you will look so hot in this," he said smirking. "And I'm probably not the only one who will think so."

"Jax," I blushed rolling my eyes. "Shut up."

"But Avery every time I start talking about I can't stop," he said tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I was probably brighter than my red heels.

Don't Avery. He's a player!

"I should get ready," I said clearing my throat. He nodded and walked out. I shut the door and locked it and got ready. After I was dressed, I opened the door and sat in front of my dresser so I could do my hair and makeup. I decided to straighten my hair and light makeup.

Jax walked into my room wearing washed out jeans with a black button up shirt, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He looked really good.

"You look great," he said looking at me through the mirror.

"Thanks..."

"Do I look great? Wait. Why am I asking you? I always look great," he smirked.

"Um...yeah. Courtney's supposed to meet us at the party.

"Okay."

He grabbed my hand and walked with me to his black Porsche. I opened the passenger side door and sat down. He got into the driver's seat and started the engine. "Ready?"

I nodded and stared out of the window.

When we arrived, it was in an abandoned house in the middle if nowhere. There was a small bonfire in the front yard and there was teenagers everywhere. Jax grabbed my hand once we were out and standing next to each other.

"Come on. The fun is inside." So he walked with me inside the large abandoned house. Their was strobe lights everywhere instead of actual lights.

"Look," Jax grinned. He pointed to a stage that was set up. A girl was on a guitar singing a fast beat song you could easily dance too. She was pretty. Her hair was a light brown to a dirty blonde. She was wearing a skater skirt and a dark pink crop top that almost met in the middle but not quite. Then she had black heels on.

"That's Leah," Courtney said pointing to the girl on the stage. I turned around to hug Courtney and then nodded.

"Her voice is amazing," I said in awe.

"She always sings at parties. Everyone asks her and she never can decline."

After awhile, she jumped off the stage and ran to a guy in a black leather jacket, white T-shirt, and black jeans. Probably her boyfriend.

"Who's that?," I asked pointing to the guy she went to immediately.

"That's Michael," Jax said. "He's a bad ass. But cool."

"Oh," I said and nodded. "We should go talk to her."

"She's really cool, I talk to her all of the time," Courtney said with a smile as she walked with me to the mysterious girl I had to meet.

"Hey," I said to her. She looked me up and down and chugged her water bottle.

So she didn't drink.

"Hi," she mumbled.

"Your voice is really good," I said as Jax handed me a solo cup filled with an unknown substance. I took a sip and smiled to her.

"Thanks,"she said with a small smile. She might be shy then?

"Babe," Michael said twirling her hair. He was drunk. She looked to him and kissed his cheek before she looked back to us.

"Um, I'm Leah," she smiled.

"Avery."

"Well my boyfriend Michael here has had way more than he's supposed to have, and it's over curfew for me. So I guess we're staying the night," she sighed. So Michael is eighteen?

"She's 17," Courtney whispered to me. Which made everything make more sense.

I'm just younger than everyone. Only 16 is like being an inch to short for the rides at the carnival. You feel...like your an outsider. But having friends older than you was great I guess. It helps when you want to go to the movies.

"Maybe we should too," Jax swayed.

"No I'll drive us all home," Courtney said. "I didn't want to drink tonight. We shall remember this the next time we party."

"Can you take me home then too?," Leah asked embarrassed by her boyfriends behavior. Drunk.

"Yes of course, my dad's a cop. They know I party, and they always let it slide," Courtney laughed.

We all nodded. "But we just got here. So let's hang out for awhile longer. I won't drink I swear."

So after an hour or two if drinking and dancing and having a good time, we all met outside and walked to where the cars were. Luckily, Courtney drove her mom's van.

"This isn't my car I swear. I just know Braden's parties and they always have alcohol," Courtney said. "So I knew I'd have to take someone home."

"Its her mom's car," I said getting into the back. Her date, Kacey, sat in the passenger seat with her, and all of us sat in the back.

"Hey we should all hang out some time," I said.

"Yeah, mall, tomorrow?," Courtney asked not taking her eyes off the road.

"Yeah," we all agreed.

"Oh and nobody worry I'll pick everyone up and we can get all of out cars. Braden makes sure none of them get vetoed or stolen. He's my bud," Courtney promised.

"Okay," Leah said. "I was starting to get worried.

She dropped Kacey off first since he lived the closest to Braden's party. Then Leah, then Michael, and lastly, Jax and I.

He pulled me into the house and to out room without us making any sound. I wasn't drunk, but I wasn't sober, and neither was he. I went to my room a and washed my face, then changed into spandex and a T-shirt. I crawled into bed and pulled the covers over top of me. Like ten seconds later, I felt the bed dip beside me and two arms wrap around me. He was in basketball shorts like usual. I turned around and rubbed my thumb against his cheek and kissed his jawline before falling asleep. Nothing serious, I was drunk.

Sure you are Avery.

Shut up subconscious!
