Kiyaka POV:
I woke up right at sundown. I was warm but a very chilly breeze hit my face. It has been pretty cold the past few nights, but nothing this freezing.
I wondered how the covers had kept me so warm until I realized it wasn't only the covers.
Akaza's arm was draped over me, holding me close to him. I could feel him pressed against me.
When I realized it was like everything stopped. I was holding my breath as I felt my face flush.
He was breathing down my neck.
I shivered at the feeling.
I didn't know what to do so I just stayed still until he woke up. I worried how he'd react when he woke up. Ugh, I didn't know what to do!
He shifted a bit, only pulling me closer, and making a sleepy groan.
I could tell he was waking up.
Akaza POV:
I don't what it was, but I had slept great. I was cozy all night and passed out really quick, as well as staying warm.
As I was waking up, I felt my arm holding something. I knew I had a knack for latching onto things in my sleep, but what did I grab?
Then it hit me that the only logical thing was Kiyaka.
My eyes shot open after realizing what I was doing, and I was correct. I held her really close to me, my whole body pressing into hers.
I didn't know if she was awake or not, but I let go as fast as possible and scooted way, letting a quiet curse leave my mouth.
I was so unbelievably embarrassed. Oddly enough, I enjoyed being close to her like that, but would I admit that? And did she?
After I had let go of her, she turned back to look at me.
Great, she was awake.
Before she could say or do anything I thought I'd apologize.
"I'm sorry- so sorry. I tend to latch onto things I'm my sleep, I should've told you or at least slept somewhere else."
She seemed overwhelmed by my immediate apology so I slowed down and she laughed.
"You're fine, trust me. I actually kinda liked it. Well, kinda is an understatement. I liked it."
She smiled at me confidently after ensuring that she liked it.
I smiled back, extremely shocked that she liked it. I thought I would've made her uncomfortable or something. I'm glad it didn't, though.
I just nodded.
"If you say so."
She sat up excitedly like she remembered something.
"Hey, let's start getting ready for the festival!"
She hopped out of the bed and ran to the closet, immediately scanning through her options.
I yawned, still trying to fully wake up. I watched her as she analyzed her options, full of energy.
"You really are excited about this festival, aren't you? I didn't even plan on changing."
She looked back at me with a smile.
"What? You gotta change into something more suitable! I'll find something for you, don't worry."
I laughed and spoke to myself but loud enough for her to hear.
