Fireworks

New town, new life

3 months has passed since the destruction of Rock Spring. Seleste's extended family welcomed the three to their home during their time of need. Len and Seleste have found jobs that allow them to work at home.  Arthur has been busy talking with Officer Longstein about the disappearance of Len's family. Nothing has come up as of yet.

"Tina, are your parents doing well?"

"They are doing fine, how are Arthur's parents doing?"

"His Mom is still tending to her sprained ankle. His Dad feels bad because he was out of town when she got hurt."

Just then, Len hears a grotesque noise coming from outside his bedroom doors. It sounded like Seleste. Len quietly but quickly follows the noise, leading to a closed bathroom.

"Seleste? Is that you? Are you ok?"

"HAAGHHAU! *ptoo* .... len? yeah i am ok. just feeling a bit sick"

The young woman let out another gutteral heave.

"Could you be a good friend and wake Aru up for me?"

Accepting Seleste's request, Len walks over to the couples bedroom and gently rocks his cousin awake.

"Arthur? Thor? Hey, your woman calls for you dude. She wants your help"

Arthur grumbles a bit and rolls out of bed. Walking out the door, but turned the wrong direction. Len chuckles and spins him 180° in the right direction. Arthur then did the rest of work by walking to his girlfriend's aid.

Chuckling again, Len decides to give them some privacy and goes back to texting Tina.

"I need to tell you something."

"Oh ok, what is it?"

"I would much rather talk about this in person. How does Thursday sound?"

"I can't do Thursday, just tell me"
*5:14 AM* read*

"That's part of what I want to talk about. Why can't you ever make time for me? I don't think I can do this anymore. I want to break up"

"Oh, alright then"

"Really? That's it? You never loved me huh? I wasted so much time for you!"

"Blocked already? Fuck her! I hate her!"

Len's scream over powered the sickness that Seleste was going through which concerned the couple and Seleste's Grandmother. They all soon flooded into Len's room wondering what happened to him.

"Aiya, boy, what are you doing?"

The lights are turned on and Len wipes his tears and blows his nose on the tissue that Arthur handed over to him.

"I'm sorry for waking you up Nana, I'm fine. Just a little nightmare."

Seleste's Grandmother gently brushes his head with her hands and recites a quick prayer for Len. She then waddles back towards the door and gestures for Seleste and Arthur to follow her.

A wave of heartwarming love comes over Len, relaxing him to the point of falling fast asleep.

Meanwhile, out in the dining room. Seleste and Arthur followed Nana to her kitchen table. She rummaged through her medicine cabinet and hands Seleste a box.

"Nana, thanks for the medici-"

Seleste's Grandmother waves her pointer finger.

"Tsk tsk tsk"

She then reaches for the box she handed to Seleste and flipped it to the front. Arthur squints at the box and reads.

"Pregnancy test? Wait, Nana, do you think that Sese is pregnant?"

She gestures for them to take the test. Arthur looks at Seleste with uncertainty and leads her by hand back to the bathroom.

Some time passes and the two are now staring at the pregnancy test on the sink counter.

Two red lines appear on the test. It was a positive test! Teary eyed Seleste holds the test up in amazement and Arthur also starts to cry tears of joy. They embrace each other and kissed. Overcome with joy, they walked out to the dining room, only to see a tiny gift bag sitting on the table. Their excitement turns into curiousness as they slowly approach the gift bag. Opening it up, a small brown fluffy ear pokes out it. A small teddy bear sat inside the bag, ready to be hugged by an infant. Tears swelled back up in their eyes and they both sat by the table, sobbing happily.
