We found my mom in the waiting room, her face pale and worried. "Becca, thank goodness you're here," she said, rushing over to me. "Your father is in surgery right now. He was hit by a car while he was out jogging."

I felt a wave of shock and fear wash over me. "Is he going to be okay?" I asked, my voice shaking.

My mom nodded, trying to reassure me. "The doctors say he has a good chance of recovery. But we need to wait and see."

Shane put his arm around me, holding me close. "We're here for you, Becca," he said. "We'll get through this together."

As we waited for news about my father's condition, Shane was a rock for me. He held my hand, talked to me calmly, and kept me strong. I don't know what I would have done without him.

Finally, the doctor came out to talk to us. "Your father is going to be okay," he said. "He has some serious injuries, but he's stable and recovering well."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me, and Shane hugged me tightly. "I'm so glad he's going to be okay," he said.

As we left the hospital and headed home, I realized how much Shane meant to me. He was more than just a boyfriend - he was my rock, my confidant, and my best friend. And I knew that I could face anything as long as he was by my side.

The days that followed were a blur of hospital visits, worry, and stress. But Shane was always there, holding my hand and keeping me strong.

One day, as we were sitting in the hospital waiting room, Shane turned to me and said,

"Becca, I have something important to tell you."

My heart skipped a beat as I wondered what it could be.

"What is it?"

I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Shane took a deep breath before speaking.

"I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now. I love you, Becca. I know it may seem like a bad time, but I couldn't wait any longer."

My heart melted at his words.

"I love you too, Shane,"

I replied, tears of joy streaming down my face.

Shane smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"We'll get through this together, Becca always."

As the days turned into weeks, my father slowly began to recover. Shane was always there, supporting me and my family through the tough times.

One day, as we were sitting in the hospital room, my dad turned to me and said,

"Becca, I'm so sorry for what I said I'm proud of you. You're strong and capable, and I know you'll make the right decisions."

I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and gratitude.

"Thanks, dad,"

I replied.

"I'm just trying to get through this."

My dad looked at Shane, who was sitting beside me.

"And I'm glad you have Shane here to support you,"

he said.

"He's a good man, Becca. You deserve each other and are gonna be good parents."

Shane smiled and took my hand, and I felt a sense of happiness and contentment wash over me.
