As we watched TV, Shane put his arm around me and pulled me close. Carl was engrossed in the show, laughing at the funny parts.
I felt a sense of contentment wash over me, feeling grateful that he was laughing.
After a while, Carl yawned and said,
"I'm tired. Goodnight, guys."
"Goodnight, buddy,"
Shane and I said in unison.
Carl headed off to bed, and Shane and I continued watching TV for a bit. Then, Shane turned to me and said,
"You know, I'm really proud of you. You're doing a great job, and I know your dad would be proud too."
I smiled, feeling a surge of love for Shane.
"Thanks, baby. That means a lot to me."
We chatted for a bit longer, then decided to head to bed. As we were getting ready for bed, Shane said,
"You know, I've been thinking... maybe we should find a new place closer to your parents."
I frown, feeling confused.
"That sounds perfect, Shane. But I like it here no need to move."
Shane nodded his head and kissed my forehead and we finished watching TV.
I got tired and told Shane I'm gonna go to bed." Ok baby I'll be up there in a minute."
I nodded my head went upstairs and I was out before my head hit the pillow.
