Azari watched Zuko as the komodo rhinos clambered onto the ship. It was a muddy beach and the komodo rhinos were slightly covered in mud. Iroh met them in the bottom of the ship where they kept the komodo rhinos.
It was dark down in that part of the ship and Azari almost wanted to shiver even though it wasn't cold.
"Ah, you have returned," Iroh said, not yet noticing Cassia but nonetheless looking a bit put out. "You could have told me you were leaving," Iroh grumbled.
"But... we did?" Azari said, trying to decide between laughter and exasperation.
"Yes, we're here," Zuko said, ignoring Azari's exchange with Iroh. "Crescent Island, we're leaving now."
"That does ring a bell in my mind," Iroh said, shaking his head though he shrugged. "It's probably nothing, I don't recall now."
Zuko hurried off to the captain and Iroh and Azari were left with one of the soldiers who was holding onto Cassia. She had looked mad before but now she just looked exhausted. Well still mad, but just not as much as before.
As Azari glanced at Cassia Iroh noticed her looking and he turned to see what Azari was looking at.
Iroh took in Cassia. She stood in her slightly ripped green earth kingdom clothes looking exhausted and slightly angry. Iroh's brow furrowed and he shook his head slightly.
Azari watched Iroh's reaction. Azari wasn't sure if Iroh felt bad for Zuko or disappointed. It was hard to tell sometimes.
"Who is that?" Iroh asked, he sounded almost sad and Azari felt bad for him.
"Zuko took her prisoner," Azari said, fumbling with her hands.
Iroh shook his head and then let his face settle. He walked towards Cassia. He smiled at her kindly.
"I'm sorry, we haven't been introduced," Iroh said to Cassia.
Cassia's expression grew into a greater frown than before.
"I'm Iroh, Prince Zuko's uncle," Iroh introduced himself. "This is Azari, she is a good friend of mine and the prince's."
Azari nodded to Cassia but didn't say anything.
Cassia didn't respond, she just continued to frown.
"Guard, you can take your hand off her," Iroh said to the guard who was standing awkwardly next to Cassia with a hand holding her arm.
The guard gratefully let go of Cassia and left the room to go to the main deck. There were still plenty of guards in the room so Azari assumed Iroh didn't think Cassia had much chance of escape. Then again Iroh would probably be okay with Cassia escaping.
"Let me show you to somewhere you can sleep," Iroh said to Cassia.
Cassia reluctantly followed Iroh and Azari down hallway after hallway until they were at a room near Azari's room.
Iroh opened the door of the room to reveal a room almost identical to Azari's room. There was a bed, a desk, and a wardrobe that was most definitely empty.
"Azari, could you lend her some of your old outfits?" Iroh asked Azari.
Azari blinked and then nodded. She rushed to her room and got together some clothes in a bag and brought them back to Iroh.
When Azari returned Iroh was gone and Cassia was sitting on the bed staring at the wall.
Azari stepped inside and took the clothes to the wardrobe. She opened it and put the clothes inside. When Azari turned around she saw Iroh walking in through the door with a tray of tea in his hands.
"I hope this makes you feel better," Iroh said to Cassia. He put the tray on the bed and motioned for Azari to follow him.
Once the two of them were sitting in Iroh's room sipping tea of their own, Iroh asked Azari what had happened.
Azari explained to Iroh about the village and Cassia fighting back and how Cassia had ended up with them.
"I just don't understand why Zuko has to get so mad!" Azari said, a little angrily. "Like why can't he calm down and just talk about something or... he wasn't always like this!" Azari said. She realized she was starting to cry a little and she immediately tried to stop, angry with herself.
"I know it's hard," Iroh said, sighing. "You and I both know Zuko has been through a lot. I think the best thing we can do for him is to try to be there for him. With our words, and our tea!"
Azari laughed, Iroh always made her feel better.
"Now, I think we should go find Zuko to see if we're near crescent island," Iroh said. Azari nodded and the two of them walked to the main deck to find Zuko.
Azari and Iroh looked around as they got on deck.
"Wait, where are we?" Azari asked Iroh. Something felt off but Azari didn't know quite what. Azari ran to Zuko who was holding a map in his hands.
As Azari looked down at the map she traced with her eyes the black ink line Zuko had drawn on the map. She traced it straight into the fire nation.
"Zuko! What are you doing?!" Azari yelled at him.
