A bright sunny day, everything seemingly very beautiful until I was handed over my results. Results, an enemy for all students. The only day when a topper and failure both are equally worried about what will happen.

A lot of us just say, 'a piece of paper cannot decide my future', because we know that exact paper brought us sleepless nights. And then there are your parents, their expectations are so much sky rocketed as if we are all Einstein and Newton. For them, it doesn't matter that your under eyes have turned black or are you dying because of lack of sleep. Bad marks, you can even get homeless.

Relatable enough? No? Lucky you. Because my Indian parents only understand the language of grades.

I then looked at the results, a C on the top of the paper. Even though it means average marks, for parents it means I have failed my test. I sighed as the teacher completed distributing all the papers to everyone.

Some faces looked happy and satisfied, some didn't care and some were already crying. I was neither happy nor sad. I was quite sure as to how my parents would react to my result.

"Arushi, are you alright?" I heard my bestfriend, Sadhvi tapping my shoulders to bring me out of my thoughts.

Sadhvi, my bestfriend or shall I call the topper bestfriend? The biggest reason my parents being always angry on me. Like ofcourse, if my bestfriend can always score the highest, why can't I? They don't understand that no matter what not everyone can be the same after all. I sighed and shook my head.

"Nothing, how much did you score" She showed her perfect A++. But that didn't make me jealous, I knew how much she works hard for the grades. But so do I, but I am very bad in maths and biology. I sighed looking out of the window, waiting for the class to end.

Oh wait, I didn't even introduce myself. I am Arushi Mehra, a second year college student and I have recently turned 21 this year. I am doing my graduation in science, because my parents forced me too.
