"I can't believe you're going back to France again and to track back a russian psychopath that might have heard of you, "Jack said, handing Helen to Ben.

"I know Jack but I have to go and help my team."

"But Matty gave you the choice, right?"

"She did, and that is exactly why I'm going. She imposed nothing on me, even though she knew she needed me."

"Alright, just be careful."

"As always," he kissed her, Ben and his little sister.

A car parked in front of the house, Jack and Mac were to pick him up. He waved goodbye at his family and got in the car.

NEVER A CAR RIDE HAS BEEN THAT UNCOMFORTABLE AND JACK TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF HIS SEAT CUSHIONS.

The car ride was silent. Alex was staring outside the car window not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. So, the tension was building up even with Metallica screaming through the radio. Mac and Jack were eyeing each other, not really knowing how to get the kid to talk. Mac knew that his friend's early life as a spy was rough, but apart from that, the whole team knew little about Alex's mission beside Matty.

They arrived at L.A airport, passed the security without much problem and met the rest of the team in front of the plane before they boarded. Mac and Riley were in adjoined seats with Bozer separated from them by a very talkative old lady. As for Jack and Alex, they were together, just a few rows down.

On his seat, Alex looked so pale and still that Jack had to refrain himself from checking if the kid was still alive. He wanted Alex to open up but he did not know where or even how to start. Should he ask him about his missions in France or about this Sarov guy? Before he could decide, Alex was already asleep, the poor lad probably didn't have much sleep last night. Jack put on his earbuds and watched Die Hard checking once in a while on his team. He was slowly drifting off to sleep but he felt the person next to him starting to shake Alex was having a nightmare. He could hear him utter unintelligible words, sobs escaping his lips.

"Come on bud, you need to wake up," Jack gently shook the kid awake.

Jack sent a glare to the too curious man sitting on the other side of Alex, clearly asking him to mind his own business before checking back on his teammate.

"It's alright now bud, it was just a bad dream." Alex was still shivering, so he kept talking to him soothingly. Once Alex was calm enough, Jack tried his luck, "Want to talk about it?"

"Well, hum...no, I'm not re...not yet. I'm gonna head to the bathroom."

Alex was already out of his seat before Jack could reply anything.

"I should be over it!"Alex was bending angrily over the sink, facing the mirror.

He thought he should be over it but, can someone really be over something like that? 0f a man killing himself in front of him? Of the sound of his heart going silent thinking he just died? No one really can, and yet, Alex expected to be fine. Fine with going back to France, even after everything that happened: Point blanc and the house of the Pleasure going up in flame. Fine with facing the brother of Alexei Sarov.
