STAKE OUT FIRST TURN WITH JACK IN GRENOBLE'S HEIGHTS IS A PAIN.

"I say toilet bowl," Jack insisted

"Geographically speaking, it's called a basin," Mac stepped in.

"And technically speaking, we're in the middle of July so my arse shouldn't be freezing up here. It's raining,"Jack added, dead serious, " you say potato, I say potahto, same thing. That is a toilet bowl."

"What were you guys even talking about in the first place?" Bozer just excited the car.

"Alex," Mac said.

"Toilet bowl," Jack answered at the same time. The three of them laughed.

"For real, Jack was saying he's not thrilled about going deep in that toilet bowl with Alex in this state."

"He said he'll manage it," Bozer said.

"And that's what I'm afraid about. He'll do stupid, reckless things just to prove to us that he is alright," Jack confessed.

WE ALL AGREE WITH YOU RILEY, DUOLINGO IS NOT ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND RUSSIANS SPEAKING ABOUT GLOBAL DESTRUCTION.

"You're sure you don't want to go back to the other?" Riley asked.

"No, I'm fine. Need to clear my head," Alex said.

While the others stayed up there in the mountains, Riley and Alex went into town, to buy some food and to look for anything suspicious. They were sitting at a café when two bulky men entered. If they weren't that big, Alex and Riley never would have paid attention, but they were twice Alex's size in height and weight. They stayed at their table, eyeing the newcomers. The strangers were simply sitting at the counter waiting, but sent the waitress off with a wave of their hands. They began to whisper in angry tones. Alex couldn't make out words in the distance but he was sure they weren't speaking French or even English.

"We need to check out those guys," Alex said.

"Alright let's ask for the check."

They casually walked to the counter and faked waiting out for the waitress to come back. Finally they could hear the two men arguing. Alex shivered. Russian.

"It's Russian," Alex silently mouthed.

Riley was already trying to understand some words and cursed, "Duolingo's definitely not enough."

"Надо вернуться на базу, нас ждет босс."

"Он сказал нам не возвращаться, пока мы не встретим информатора."

"Я знаю, но люди смотрят на нас."

"Зачем ждать здесь? Мы уже знаем, что оружие находится в Пойнт-Бланке."

"Нам нужно знать обстоятельства встречи идиота."

"What are they saying?" Alex asked.

"I don't really know. I think they are waiting for an informant for details. Wait! They know where the weapon is but I think they're using a code name."

"What's the name?"

"I'm not sure, it sounded like point and then blank."

"You've got to be kidding me."

"What? You know what they're talking about?"

"Not only do I know what it is, but I've already been there."

Someone entered the café in a hurry and went over to the two men and without a word dropped a letter on the counter and took off. The Russians, now satisfied, got up from their chairs and slowly went towards the door.

"We need to follow them."

"Why? We know where the exchange will happen, we just have to go back and tell the others," Riley said back.

"Yes, but right now, we have a chance to get Sarov before he can even get near the bomb."

"Not on our own Alex."

"Then tell the team. They'll meet us on the road, but we can wait or we'll lose the Russians."

Riley knew it was impossible to debate with Alex so she simply nodded and gave him his ear comms and she took out her phone.

"Jack, we're going to follow two Russians, they will lead us to Sarov. So, switch to comms and you can follow our location on your GPS. Meet you there."

As they were out of the café just in time to see the Russians climb in a large black car.

"We won't be able to follow them," Riley said, a hint of hope in her voice, she had a bad feeling about following those guys.

"You know in France, Velibs are everywhere. I'll get us a bike."

Riley's legs were like jelly. She was not qualified for car pursuits with a BIKE. Alex on the other hand, seemed like he'd done that his whole life. Fortunately, they had managed to follow their targets to an abandoned warehouse. Unfortunately for Alex, Riley made him wait for the team and he was worried Sarov and his men would disappear. He was about to go in when he heard tires

screeching behind him. His team was here. Jack was fully geared and gave Riley and Alex their equipment. Alex tucked his gun in his belt. He wasn't at ease with firing one, not since Julia Rothman pushed him to point a gun at Mrs Jones, but if it comes to it, he knew he would.

"Okay, so that's the plan. We ain't going in there crashing the party like brutes," Jack announced.

"That'll be a first," Mac joked.

"Thanks Mac for your support," he chuckled, " we go in there discreetly, identify how many men there are in there and we'll decide if we do something or not. Understood?"Before Alex could object, he added, "Alex, you're with me. We're taking the other side of the building."

***

They were creeping slowly in the building counting the number of guards and the number of possible exits. Well, Alex was trying to do it but with Jack's constant questioning, he was having a hard time focusing on anything. 'Alex, why did you follow those guys on your own?' or 'you were going in there alone if we were late, weren't you?', it was only a matter of time before he lost his temper.

"Are you even listening to me?" Jask asked, annoyed.

"No I'm not, Jack! I'm trying to assess the bloody situation!" Alex snapped.

"Hoa, your Karate Britishness, no need to use big words!" Jack tried to calm his younger partner.

"Big words? Wait! Did you just call me 'Karate Britishness'?"Aley lightly chuckled.

"Me?"Jack feigned being offended, "You've forbidden me from using that nickname, remember?"

"Stop. people are coming."As on cue five people came out of the door from behind them. Alex and Jack quickly hid under the staircase to their right. Two of them were the Russians from the café and two others were as beefy as them. The man they were flanking was tall with grey hair and cold blue eyes.

"That's him, that is Dimitri Sarov."

"I'd you know?" Jack whispered.

"Because when Matty said they were brothers I didn't expect him to be a carbon copy of the man that had killed himself in front of me," Alex was trying to steady his breath.

"What?" Jack cried.
